i not understood the problem, why you need Auto Shutdown?
I think there is not player with Auto Shutdown only TV and AV receiver.  ???
WIth kodi on HTPC you can select Shutdown delay , but it's not automatic on boot.

i not understood very well, i think you talking about CEC function.
The only box how work very well is raspberry pi or nuc.

I take no CEC which I turned off everything . I just want the the Q5 when not in use or to turn off after 60,90,120 minutes .

Oh yes , the Q5 has an extreme heat problem . If my device when I sleep at night go up in flames , I know where I need to report

No other products I know of have auto-shutdown. It shouldn't really be necessary, just turn the box off when you're finished.

The box will not overheat in normal use. It should run cool if doing nothing (i.e. if you've finished watching something and you fall asleep).

Where did you get the box from? There are differences between Chinese and European spec products.

Well never mind , I send the unit back tomorrow . This is so unacceptable that he does not shut off when not in use when you're asleep and other player can do it because you are misinformed

I know other products that have auto-shutdown or stanby. it's useful for the reasons given by megamind.

the Q5 , specially with WIFI, can get very hot

No standard android platform is capable of auto shutdown, If the device is Rooted it can be accomplished.

If you do have root then you can use this works really well.
