keep getting st process has stopped, what is it and how to correct it :'(

I suppose you are on official HiMedia v2.0.3 firmware, please downgrade to official HiMedia  v2.0.1 or try repack CFW v2.0.3.

I expect I will lose all apps and settings again. already done a factory reset twice.
Yes I am running HMD-2.0.3.2017. is the firmware the same for the Q5 and Q10 ?

No, they are different. Be sure to install the proper one fitly to your device model.

If I downgrade and or root my Q10+ I think i will invalidate my guarantee. Not sure about a repack v2.0.3

If you bought it from us then you can install any firmware you like, as long as it comes from this forum.

2.0.3 repack should fix the st process error.

Where do I get CFW v2.0.3?

I assume cfw is current firmware and its downloaded from Q5/Q10 pro official firmware front page of this forum.

cfw means CS custom firmware. From here:
