Title: To sleep or not sleep
Post by: gioiosani on May 26, 2017, 02:39:13 PM
Some times when I press the red power button on the remote, my system powers down but the time is still displayed. Is this sleep mode and if so how to wake it up again.  I have to disconnect and reconnect the power to turn it back on again.

It just takes a while to shut down. Time will be displayed until it actually shuts down.

Thanks for the reply.
So its not sleep mode, I have left it for 5 hours in that state before.
I does not happen all the time only occasionally.
Could it be one of the apps i did not shut down causing it to hang.

It should not take longer than 10-15 seconds. Check your power plug as well, just to be sure. One of the apps may not behave as it should. I had this issue yesterday, but only because I opened my Q10 Pro by accident and I wanted it to be closed immediately, I did not wait for it to fully boot.

I have tried another power supply and down graded firmware to HMD 2.0.1 due to sd process  and launcher 3d stopping. but my q10 still does not shut down. When I press the power button to turn off I get no HDMI connection screen goes blank  the time display continues working on the front but the box does not respond to anything have to unplug power adapter.
I have worked with computers since before windows this Himedia box is my first introduction to android and I getting frustrated, hoping it is some thing simple.
To make sure I am not doing any thing stupid this is how I shut it down.
Home screen click on little square bottom of screen and shut down my apps then press red power button on remote or front panel. normal wait 15 minutes but have waited several hours.

Just for clarity, are you using the standard IR remote or the Rii airmouse?

The IR remote should have no problems with turning off.

The Rii airmouse occasionally goes into standby rather than turning off. This was fixed in FW 2.0.3. If you want to use an earlier firmware the CS custom firmwares have a software power button on the home screen.

I am using the air mouse Rii remote, but have the same problem using the bottom right power on the front display of Q10 box

Sorted ;D
All I had to do was to disconnect my VPN before shutting down.
Now shuts down and turns on with both remote and front of the box even without closing any apps.
stupidly simple both me and the solution
