Title: Kodi 17 on Q10 pro... Bad, how to go back??
Post by: simo241 on May 12, 2017, 05:20:43 PM
Hello to all
I have himedia Q10 Pro, and I have a problem with Kodi 17.0
I did all the updates before installing Kodi 17:
This's my configuration systme
Android 7.0
Kernel 3.18.24
HMD 2.0.1

Kodi16.1 version was better for me in several aspects, so I wonder how to format my Q10 over the factory reset, make a tabula of every setting as if my Q10 was a virgin factory.

However, in the factory reset of the device, settings remain in memory.
There is a way to clear everything and re-install  kodi16.1

thank you all.

Yes, no problem. First disable Kodi update in playstore - so Kodi will not be updated automatically.  Then uninstall Kodi and install Kodi 16.

Option 2: use SPMC, you can have it besides Kodi.

For that the best is to reinstall the firmware, with the "paperclip" method (you can find the proper description here in separate threads).
But you will lost all of your current settings this way as it will really wipe everything out.

Is exactly what I want to do, lose all settings and reinstall everything in a clean way. What procedure should I follow?

Depends on what version of firmware you want to install. The most advised are the 1.0.9, or a bit less advised is the 2.0.1. Important that both fw requires separate procedure steps to install it correctly, and to be very cautious to follow them properly! You can find all regarding information in the dedicated thread: http://www.futeko.com/newforum/index.php?topic=711.0 (http://www.futeko.com/newforum/index.php?topic=711.0)

(But you should have already figure this out by yourself, if you would were a bit more observant.)

And good luck with the upgrade! :)

Thanks mount81, but I did not understand how to make a tabula rasa formatting to lose all the old settings.
Formatting to have my device box come out of the factory
