Title: Sound Stuttering on Q10?
Post by: nickh on June 26, 2015, 10:55:11 AM
I am trying various videos (mostly DTS) and at points the sound will stop for half a second and carry on. The video carries on but I can see on the Amp that the sound is stopping.

It happens at random intervals and is extremely annoying

I am using the HiMedia Wrapper in XBMC for all videos.

I have tried adjusting the sound settings but it still happens.

It isn't buffering or anything as the video is fine. Has anybody else had this?

Hello,

I'm using also The HimediaWrapper in the Q10 Himedia and test some various file in mkv format and i noticed that slowing effect with random time sometimes in X264 or X265, same by using Kodi application. But even if we use the LAN way, same thing.

Did some people have the same effect when playing movie, so hope that Himedia will resolve this wrong mistake.

Thanks

have you tried to play the movies using Himedia player(Main panel->File manager and so on) instead Kodi?Because I do not understand what is the advantage using Kodi.

Yes bvliviu and the same problem as well. So i think that we have a problem with the firmware and waiting the next one.

Do people experiencing this get the same problem with firmware 1.0.8? As here: http://www.futeko.com/newforum/index.php?topic=124.0

If I bought the Q10 in June would it have the new Firmware already?

Bought from us in June it would have either 1.0.9 or 1.0.9.1. If you go to settings - about it will tell you which firmware is running.

HMD-1.0.9 2015-06-12.160653 is 1.0.9.1

HMD-1.0.9 2015-05-18.131523 is 1.0.9

I have also reported the same problem for the Q5 already and I'm hoping to get an update soon.

Has downgrading fixed this for others? IT is starting to happen more and more now.

I downgrade to 1.0.7  Q5, result:
1.0.7:
- 23.976 some stutter
- no  audio drop

- 1.0.9.1:
- 23.976 no stutter
- some audio drop

When will a fix for this be issued?

It is unfortunate that this problem has been introduced in enhancing the Q5, as it is the most annoying issue I have had with this unit - it also occurs playing music files.

Thanks,
karl.

I agree with this post that CHANGING the incorrectly shown 720framepacking when stating the q5/10 causes the audio dropout, if it is left no stutter occurs.

its not the only way that cause oudio dropout.... ive see normal mkv (shows correct output 1080p50h....) and sometimes there is audio dropout..... random i can tell....
