This firmware requires Android 7 to be installed.

If running Android 5.1 we advise installing 2.0.1 first (Q5 Pro 2.0.1: http://www.futeko.com/newforum/index.php?topic=1611.0) and then allowing your Q5 Pro to auto-update to latest firmware.

No auto frame switching  working in Kodi anymore.
Neither  through Wraper  or  Internal  Player  .
Is there any work around solution coming ?

Wrapper auto-switch definitely works. Set Settings - Playback - 24p to ON.

Auto switch in Kodi native player never worked with standard Kodi. This patch should still work but hasn't been tested by us on 2.0.3: http://www.futeko.com/newforum/index.php?topic=1015.0

Are you extracting the update.zip file from the archive? No renaming.

From your description the box isn't finding the update file.

Are you sure?

Wrapper auto switch not working for me in  Kodi .
Auto  frame switch working in Himedia player itself , but not trough the wrapper in Kodi.
Patch for the internal Kodi  player doesn't work either  in 2.0.3 ( well , it  only says "  screen rate  changed to... " , TV  reporting otherwise though , no actual  screen rate changed )
Never had such an issue on previous  firmware versions .

When you hold the restore button and  turn the box on ,maybe you press the Power button for too long , unlike the Restore button it only need quick press ?

Has this FW update  IEC61937 pass-through support, so i can use the Kodi 17 player for movies with DTS, DTS-HD or True-HD audio? I rather don't want the Wrapper or a other player to view my movies, i use Kodi for al my media files.

Kodi developpers write on their forum that the only way to use audio passthrough within Kodi 17 is that the android box manufactures add IEC61937 pass-through support to the FW, they stopped adding workarounds from now on.

You kind of answered your question with your previous post.  :o

No is the answer. HiSilicon say early May for a firmware with Audiotrack 23 and full passthrough in Kodi 17+ nativge player.

Meanwhile Kodi 16.1 functionality (5.1 passthrough max from Kodi internal player) can be restored by installing this build of Kodi 17.1: http://mirrors.kodi.tv/test-builds/android/arm/kodi-20170411-a4896c0-shitty-armeabi-v7a.apk

Correct  ;D
I just wanted to make sure it was the same issue so i posted a separate question about it.   8)
The good news i see is that HiSilicom is working on it so i still have hope the issue wil  be solved eventually, in the meanwhile  i will install the update and use the special build of Kodi you linked too. Thanks.

Yup. Automatic subtitles download / integration with opensibtitles.org (and others), is extremely important for people who rely on subs. Also audio sync is very handy sometimes.

And also don't forget the zoom in/out and pixel ratio, with which you can virtually shape the picture anyway you like, if you need to. For example, try to watch 'The Hatefull Eight', or 'La La Land', both shot in Cinemascope 1.55/1 in a 16/9 TV.. It looks small.. You need to zoom in a little bit.

What is the benefit of using Kodi without Himedia wrapper ?

"working movies" for example in widgets, Himedia Player do not store this, only stores seen / not seen via SMB, not via NFS.

Ran the update today but now i experience a problem with the launcher app, i use the Apex launcher instead of the standard 3D Launcher. The Apex launcher stil works but i have to activate in manually and every-time i reboot the device or hit the home button the device switches back to the 3D launcher. Both in the APP settings as in the settings of the Apex launcher it's not possible to change to a different standard launcher, the only fixed option is the 3D launcher. I tried installing another launcher like the Nova an Nougat launcher but the problem persists.

Any ideas?

So i read it and the workaround is to set securitylevel to 1, strange thing is that writers in the other topic had this problem with 2.01 and i didn't. But ok, i will try Google to find out how to change or set securitylevels and if that's even possible on a not rooted device.

Hello,
I saw there is a new update for my q5pro and installed it...
That was a bad Idea - KODI is a mess now... the ESC key has changed that drives me crazy... but it get's worse.
Nothing works like before - no movie plays, the hmedia player just hangs - black screen.

Guys do you test your software in any way? Actually the box is useless for me, because it just don't play videos at all anymore.

Do I have to reconfig things after the update in kodi? Is this a wrapper thing?

---> I found the problem...the security settings changed and without the user/passw for shares nothing works.
I take back what I wrote about not testing ;) But I read the release notes and cannot remember that this was mentioned... maybe I was not careful enough.

The new kodi version is not really a step forward from my point of view....

Can I downgrade just KODI to the former version?
And can I remap the "back-button" in kodi so that it works as before with the remote?

Yes you can install Kodi 16.1 if you don't like Kodi 17. The download is here: http://mirrors.kodi.tv/releases/android/arm/

After installing it find Kodi in Play Store and disable auto-updates for it to stop constant Kodi update available message.

To restore normal Kodi 17 remote behaviour (like Kodi 16), in Kodi, go Add-ons / My add-ons / Peripheral libraries / Joystick Support / Disable

Sorry to say but i use archos player (http://www.futeko.com/newforum/index.php?topic=1786.0). If Kodi works like i need it (and archos do it for 95%), i will use it again. But it seems that will last very very very long... :-(

Don't be sorry. Archos is better than Kodi in many ways for managing a local video collection.

Today took the plunge and updated my Q5 pro FW from 1.10 to 2.01 and then to 2.03. I have the below problems on both android 7 vesrions of the firmwares.

Settings is not reponding and have to force close by power
Opening Kodi takes a long time and gives messages Not responding close app or wait.
Chrome not responding (pop up message close app or wait)
Does not play embedded videos or seems to struggle to get them to play in web pages and get constant pop up message to wait or close app
You tube app is not responding, you tube does not play videos and starts, then hangs and crashes. Sometimes struggle to close the app, have to force close.
OTA update does not function, had to update from 2.01 to 2.03 by downloading the firmware and update with a USB - What is the purpose of having these functions in the firmware if they never work.

I will revert to 1.10 at least some of the above basic things were working.
