Title: H8 Firmware compatible with Q3?

Hey everyone. I posted this elsewhere but didn't get any replies. So wondering if anyone can help me out. While doing research into my Q3 box by himedia. I read that to root the q3 you use the root firmware from the h8. My question is, now that the h8 has lollipop and the Q3 does not. Does anyone know if the H8 firmware would work for the Q3?

Completely different hardware (HiSilicon 3798M vs Rockchip 3368) so not compatible.

You will brick either box by trying to install firmware meant for the other.

There is a file link to the Q3 root on himedia.ca.  See http://himedia.ca/forum/index.php?topic=113.0.  The file is linked in http://himedia.ca/forum/index.php?topic=114.0.  In the second link the message states "H8" but i think that's just a mistake the originator made typing up the comment... I *may* have actually installed this root on my Q3, but that was quite a while ago and i'm not 100% sure i got the link from this message, so ... no guarantees, research and use at your own risk.
