I have not do any updates, andriod since i gotten q10 a month ago.
Just recently i realised the subtitle download is no longer working. Subtitle search will generate some random , unrelated subtitle like assasin creed, big bang theory when i keyed in a movie titles.
Whats wrong? New bug again?
-
Im certain the subtitle download is screwed up.
I just try searching for the subtitle for the films i watched 2wks ago, and downloaded sub, now i try downloading the sub, no sub found.
Resetting the q10 doesnt help.
-
Same problem occurred with me.
-
Here also the subtitles in Kodi work no more, the sites do, but think there is something wrong with the addons.
Hope that it is rapidly dissolved !?
-
thank goodness.
The subtitle search is working now.
try it guys.
-
Yes subtitles are working again, thanks ;D
-
subtitles in Mediaplayer DO NOT WORK (zero results all the time), they worked perfectly on FIRMWARE 5.1
pleas help!!!!
subtitles in Kodi work (you just need to adjust the addons give them username and password)
-
Subtitle download no longer works (HiMediaplayer) not finding subtitles (0 results)
this is about the HiMediaplayer, pressing menu--> download subtitles--> yields always 0 results
used to work perfectly, on FW 5.1 now doesn't
-
Media player's download subs is not working again .
-
that's exactly what i said..... it's the firmware upgrade
-
Can someone please explain to me what exactly we are getting out of the new firmware updates?
When I first got the Q10 I was actually quite happy with it. Now it's just problem after problem.
Now, not only we can't download subtitles, but the problem of disappearing subtitles STILL hasn't been resolved.
Is the Himedia team still on holiday or are they back at work? Can we expect some FIXES soon? I don't think anyone here really care about new features or "enhancements" as long as we still have to deal with old problems still unresolved till now.
-
They solved a number of bugs have built the interface around android 7
And expanded the display options and resolutions
Fir the new bug list see my other posts i it's not only subtitles
But problems with nfs crashing
-
Futeko, please help report to himedia.
I am on 2.0.3. The Media player's subs dowload used to work before. Could be API problem or else.
Thanks a lot Futeko.
-
Of course, you could always find your own sub-titles, quickly mux them into the video file with MKVToolNix and you will always have the right one for you!
So much is dependant on the source for these type of issues as quality can be variable.
Decent source for subs:

Subtitle search is down again.
why is this whole player so unstable?
-
this is a bug im the new FW, you can use koi in the meanwhile....
-
Please ask on support of opensubtitles why API are not stable.
Subtitle search is down again.
why is this whole player so unstable?
-
no the problem is not with open subtitles or kodi, it's with the (Hi)Mediaplayer with the latest FW.
-
Hi,
I just installed the mxplayer with my 1.1.10. software from pcristi (Android 5.1. und Kodi 17 shitty). I'm thrilled. Subtitle handling is great, and I didn't even have to modify anything else. No scripts or whatever had to be changed. I should have tried this earlier ;-)
-
Understanding there will a fw upgrade next week.
Hopely Himedia fix this important media player's subs download feature.
Waiting........
-
subtitle download is spoilt again.
Any update on this issue? wasnt fixed in weeks now..
-
Altough it is not clearly stated , but there will be an update for media centre on next week fw update. Himedia should aware to fix ths important download subs. problem.
-
Using mx player, this subtitle issue is no longer an issue!!
-
I have been told that sub download will be fixed in firmware next week.
-
It is good. Thanks Futeko :)
-
Hi ALl,
i just updated my q10 pro from 5.1 to 7 and then to the latest firmware. I am not able to download the subtitles while watching a movie, within KODI.
Are you all still facing the subtitles issue or is it resolved ? please share the fix for the same if anybody is aware of.
-
As far as I know it's still there with the latest FW
SO the default Player (himeriaplayer) Will still have issues finding subtitels to download
Kodi was never a problem
-
Himedia player download subtitles is almost useless, it can't find most movie subtitles.
Why doesn't Himedia use opensubtitles.org API?
-
is there any workaround the subtitle issue ?
-
use Kodi
or download the subtitle files manually
-
Hopely Himedia could improve it soon with the next fw update Also full BD iso menu.
Otherwise user and potenttial user will use another app even another brand.
-
Subtitles are not getting downloaded within KODI,
Is there a way i can make Kodi download the subtitles.. This was a never a problem in 5.1 .. Post upgrading the 7, i am not able to acheive the same.
-
Same problem , HiMedia Player not found subtitles..
Why not working?
-
Fw 2.0.5, Himedia player is still mostly shows subtitles found (0) :(
Hopefully next FW , Himedia will solve this important feature problem.
-
Do you even know where the Wrapper/Himedia player gets them from? Why don't you get them manually from OpenSubtitles or a local site? The quality of any downloaded subtitles (in Romanian, my native language) is mostly at 50%. Just my 0.02 euro cents :) It may be convenient, but I prefer to get very good quality subtitles, not just any subtitles. This feature was a hit and miss from the start.
-
It is better if we can get the subs from himedia video player itself.
It used to work good before until opensubs.org changed the API. Hopefully Himedia will update to use proper opensubs.org' API.
-
mine working fine with new firmware
-
mine working fine with new firmware
Which firmware are you using ?
-
Is there any update on this subtitle issue yet?
-
- still "subtitles found (0)"
- still no update :(
-
This is getting ridiculous. Many people have reported problems and they're completely ignoring us.
-
-
Subtitle found(0) problem occurred on Himedia video player.
-

Verified. This will be passed to HiMedia as a bug.

Do we have any further update on the subtitle issue
-
it is going more than a year ago....
-
any further update on the Subtitle Issue ? anyone has any other fix that you are using, apart from downloading the subs manually and then adding them.

I think Himedia player uses Opensubtitles.org to download and this site is user and password protected for subtitles search for some time now. The fix would be Himedia Player to be configurable with user and password for subtitle search (like Kodi opensubtitles addon) or search in another site.
The workaround is to use Kodi or MX Player to download the subtitles.

Do you mean , use the kodi, without the wrapper and then i will be able to downlaod the subtitles ?
If thats doable, then post dl the subs, can we turn on the kodi, with the wrapper now and play the movie and subtitles will be there ?

Yes. Kodi will deposit a subtitle file (usually .srt) in the video folder. This can be used by any media player.

Updated to 2.0.6
The subtitle download found all in chinese sub otherwise sub found (0).

Updated to 2.0.7
The problem is still persist.
The sub download found all in chinese
:(

This is a bug that we have repeatedly reported to Himedia. They won't tell us why it hasn't been fixed, but I think the earlier post about Opensubtitles could be correct.
A workaround is to use Kodi to deposit subtitles into the media directory which will then be used by Himediaplayer / wrapper.

So i am using the above method, initially playing the video files throgh kodi, dl subs, and then play the same file with wrapper, and the subs are there :-)

hi to all, on my Box HIMEDIA Q5 Pro there is the Firmware:
HMD 2.0.3 2017.04.13 - 215035 I have always updated Online and I ask you if I can find here on the Help forum the latest updated Firmware ... thanks
-
Which version of the OpenSubtitles for Kodi addon are you using? You need to be using the 5.2.14 version.
As all of my movies are in English I don't need subtitles. I just tried to download some to see what happened and there are plenty to download ... but ALL in Chinese :o!
If you have Archos Player on you box then you can use that to download the subtitles. It also uses OpenSubtitles but it works. Kodi will then find these subtitles.
