Support for Nougat was already confirmed. There is a topic about it on the Egreat forum. They are waiting for conditions to be as stable as with Lollipop and all APP's included to work without any restrictions.  Good policy by the way. They want also to avoid double FW support, so they will be looking very close at Himedia new results.

1 - Can use other Launcher, but not usefully because Egreat Player are locate in Egreat launcher, so always need to run  Egreat launcher to get player functionality.
2 - Egreat FW can be rooted with same script ROOT_SuperSU_v2.78_via_LAN like HiMedia, CFW for Egreat like HiMedia no.

Note: Egreat A10/A5 is intend to be a dedicate Android media player, not a Android miniPC.
