Thanx for the answer. I did read all of those comments a few weeks ago. But seems the exception even for that reviewer was in fact the u9. The color issue? is beeing fixed as we speak and a fw will be out in couple of days.
Regarding PQ...most said hisilicon est better than amlogic s912. at the same time seem minix always offers PQ a little better than other boxes with same soc ?!
anyway...It is just frustrating that after one year the hdr ration bug is still there..and no dolby vision...as promised earlier..and subs synch stutter bug...this forum is about q pro..and this is what i am doing..talking about it...
Bonjour f my memory is good..where you the one that said q pro has same pq aw the 10 year old wdtv? I read that comparaison somewhere and was shocked!
Also...why is egreat much more stable than q pro... and both use same soc...himedia has a year advance..
MiniX won't be able to do much to improve S912 PQ. HiSilicon will always be better.
I am as frustrated as anybody by the most recent test firmware and the delays, but HiMedia do have a good history of fixing bugs. The problem is that the bugs mentioned require fixing at a low level by HiSilicon (a partner company of HiMedia - both owned by Huawei).
I have received absolute assurance from HiMedia that these problems (particularly Kodi 17 7.1Audio, HDR unusual aspect ratio, and subtitle gap/stutter) are known by HiSilicon and are being worked on. It's just a matter of time.
Picture quality is not something that is going to constantly improved. I'm sure there is theatre equipment from 50 years ago that produces an excellent picture, which would be difficult to improve upon. WDTV was a good product for PQ.
Egreat is not more stable than HiMedia. Both are very stable. Egreat still use Android 5.1 (so equivalent to HiMedia 1.1.0), HiMedia are pushing forward with Android 7.

Just reading this can i clarify that the Q10 suffers from a colour space problem that leads to a darker output?
HiMedia Q5/Q10 Pro do not suffer from this problem.
Phil181 was referring to Amlogic S912 based players.
HiMedia use HiSilicon Hi3798CV200.

Ok. Thanks. Must be a calibration issue then.

simple... from 17 version kodi not support more amcodec ,so play store kodi version not use more AVE ( Amlogic Video Engine ).
So with Minix you must use custom kodi or SPMC ( if still support AVE ).
