Hi,
I am having stuttering on all BD movies streamed across a Cat6 network from my NAS drive.
I am playing this on a 4K OLED TV (LG 55E6V) via a Marantz SR7010 Amp.
Stuttering occurs in both the EGreat Player and the Vidon player so would point towards EGreat not "cracking" the 23.976 stuttering issue in their firmware yet!
I do not get this issue on my other media players - mede8er X3D and Dune 3D. On these players there is an option to set refresh rate to 23.976Hz but there is no option in the A5 EGreat.
This used to be an issue with the Mede8er and Dune players but was fixed with firmware updates after a few months.
Is this likely to be the same with EGreat - will a firmware update correct this?
Is there anything else I can set on the player to compensate for this - refresh rate etc?
Very disappointed as the stuttering makes watching movies untenable.
Any help appreciated.

Thanks for the quick reply.
I will set the Display Frequency settings and set as suggested.
Will report back later today.

Sorry I removed post by mistake.

I have upgraded to latest Beta Firmware and made all the settings the same as the screenshots and still I have stuttering.
Stuttering is happening on both 2D and 3D Blu Rays.
I have copied movies (.iso) to USB 3 external hard drive and connect to EGreat A5 player and then connected EGreat A5 player directly to the TV and there is still stuttering.
I have also played an mkv file and stuttering occurs on that as well.
The same movies do not stutter on my other media players.
I have also tried playing movies through another TV and the same issue occurs - definitely points towards the EGreat player :-(
Any more ideas/help appreciated otherwise I will need to return this as faulty.

Can you please describe exactly what you mean by stuttering?

Hi,
Every 30/40 seconds there is a slight pause in the movie - the pause is milliseconds but is noticeable.
My partner also notices it.
I can try and capture the issue and upload if that were to help?

Some user reported on Egreat forum is must to force recovery the firmware v1.1.0.7 first to get rid of 34ms or 42ms drop frame on 23.976fps.

Thanks for the threads.
I will force firmware update (via reset switch) for v1.1.0.7 today - although I did do this for the Beta and the microstuttering still existed.
Will report back later today

Thanks. The problem you describe is 23.976fps content being output at 24Hz.
This is fixed in 1.1.0.7 and later. Follow the pcristi instructions and see how it helps.

I know you've got a thread in Egreat forum about this, but just wanted to post to update this thread also.
This problem is fixed in firmware 1.1.0.7 and later.
If you are running an earlier firmware you need to first do a forced recovery to firmware 1.1.0.7 and then allow the box update itself to latest firmware. See here for forced recovery instructions: http://en.egreatworld.com/comunity/index.php?threads/egreat-a5-the-instruction-to-force-to-recovery-the-firmware.385/

Good news it seems the microstutter is solved by doing a forced recovery of the firmware.
I would suggest to anyone who is buying this player to force recover the firmware BEFORE setting the player up with your movies/TV shows etc.

@magnifesto
please confirm if problem solved !
Yes - forced firmware install fixed the problem

Hi Guys
My first time on the forum so be kind to me.
I have firmware 1.1.2.0 on my A5 and I am still getting stuttering with all my movies. My A5 is working via a Denon amp to an LG OLED TV similar to Manifesto.
Am I missing something or do I have to go back to .1.0.7 and then let my A5 upgrade again.

For some users it seems that a forced install of 1.0.7 followed by installing latest firmware (1.1.2.0 at time of writing) fixes this issue.
It should be noted that most users are not seeing this problem at all.
My advice would be to force install 1.1.0.7 and then allow the box to auto-update to 1.1.2.0.

We do not install latest firmware on A5 because the box will auto-update itself on first connection to internet. Current stock has 1.1.0.7 pre-installed.
I don't understand the question about the bundle. We sell A5 + Rii MX3 here: http://www.futeko.com/products/MP075.php

When i had stuttering problem, it was driving me crazy because i had all new updated equipment, turned out the mtu is set too high, try optimizing your mtu across your network

Hi Denncon - When I received the Egreat A5 it had firmware 1.0.7 "out of the box"and there was micro stutter. I force recovered firmware 1.0.7 and microstutter was gone. Then force recovered firmware 1.1.2.0 and I still do not have microstutter.
-
Manifesto,
Yes mine was at 1.1.0.7 and it upgraded to 1.1.2.0 but I still get the micro juddering on all movies, not all the time and not always at the same place.
I have tried forced recoveries both to V 1.1.0.7 and now to 1.1.2.0, I have also cleared data on the Egreat app which works for a while but it comes back.
For some reason the Vidon app seems to be OK.
I see that Yarc is having the same problem on the "A5 playback issues" post and I note your suggestion but we shouldn't have to go down that route. There are also posts on the Egreat forum dealing with the same problem.
Lets hope Egreat come up with a solution soon.

A new post on Egreat forum witch report force recovery f/w 1.1.0.7 solved.
