Hi,
From about 3-4 months I have a problem with connect Q10 to my PC via USB 3.0 (Laptop Asus GL552V , Windows 10 Home 64 bit). There is 3TB internal HDD in Q10 which is working fine. The problem is with connect Q10 with laptop. When I plug USB host cable to laptop there is "plug in"sound and after 10-15 seconds "plug out sound" and the situation is reapeating continuosly all the time. I cannot copy any files to HDD. Did some of you had same problem? I tried to factory reset, changed firmware 1.0.7, 1.0.8, 1.09, 1.1.0 with no luck. Also changed (forced) USB drivers from microsoft to intel drivers - still not working. USB in laptop is rather fine because it's working with every pen drive, phone, external disk at home. Any ideas whats wrong?

Are you plugging your laptop USB 3.0 cable into the port at the rear of the Q10 Pro (not USB on the side but the one between the wifi aerial and Optical socket )? This is the one you use for file transfer from a PC (and it is very quick).
Does the laptop show it is connecting to USB equipment? If it keeps connecting then disconnecting, look for errors in Windows
(and ensure under Control Panel/Devices/USB the "Notify me if there are issues connecting to USB devices" is turned on?
Your laptop should see the HiMedia as an external drive if all is working correctly.

Yes I'm plugging Q10 with laptop via USB 3.0 Cable to the rear side (blue square port - like in printers). I have also USB 2.0 port in laptop and it's working fine (but slow). The problem exists only with USB 3.0.
Yes I have "Notify me if there are issues connecting to USB devices" turned on. Windows doesn't report any errors.
Edit:
I've deleted all USB drivers, volumines and external disks in device manager (also hidden devices) - still not working. Q10 is showing in system as local drive F (3TB, NTFS file system). When I start copy to disk no matter what - USB is disconnecting.
I've changed HDD to other 1TB (new) - still the same...

Please try another USB cable.

I've tried 3 different cables already.

I thought it worth a try.
I can't explain why you're getting this problem. It's not typical. I'd have thought it unlikely to be a Q10 Pro hardware problem because it works for USB2 and you do see the device via USB3. My finger is pointed at something in your Windows setup. Have you tried another PC to eliminate this as a possibility?

You are using the Q10 Pro as an USB3-Slave when connecting it to a PC. You need an USB3 port on the PC-end which is capable of switching it into that communication mode.
Look under device manager on the PC in which state the port is. It may need an extra driver for this mode. I am not even sure all USB3 ports support it.

Yes I think the same... thats why I reinstalled USB drivers to Intel drivers (not microsoft windows included). Thank you all anyway for trying to help me.
