Title: H8 can we expect new firmware ?

As you can see on official Himedia website
H8 Plus and Light have?e  new firmware

H8 Plus   HMD-1.1.7 2017-03-15.193212   679M       http://www.mediafire.com/file/vyzk7mkysf42614/update.zip
H8 Lite   HMD-1.1.7 2017-03-15.183641   679M       http://www.mediafire.com/file/tzzu3wksym4rgrm/update.zip

As hardware ale H8* family box is similar can we expect update for H8 ? or can we upgrade our H8 using firmware from from PLUS or Light

I will ask HiMedia and get an answer tomorrow. I'll also try to get a changelog for the new H8+/Lite FW.

Any idea what the baseline for the change log is?  The last release was 1.1.3 with audio issues but the major problem i've encountered doesn't seem to be listed, ie. regularly occuring audio dropouts (non-3d content) with passthrough enabled.  . Additionally, have they been able to work in the patches from RKMC to allow us to use newer Kodi versions?

I don't think so, but you can install something called **, which is a Rockchip hardware compatible Kodi 16.1 fork. I won't link to it here because it contains dubious add-ons.

Just google 'rockchip kodi' and you'll find it quick enough.
