Did this firmware update include hd audio passthrough in Kodi 17 own native player?
Everyone n I have been asking for it. I want audio passthrough in kodi 17 and it needs Audio track v24 or higher installed with Android 7 (Nougat).
A colleague of yours called . said it would be easy to add to the upcoming firmware.
-
Did this firmware update include hd audio passthrough in Kodi 17 own native player?
This is an Android 5.1 update. 7.1 channel HD-Audio passthrough with Android 5.1 and Kodi will never be possible. It needs Android 7.
An Android 7 update is coming around end March (delayed from this week - sorry). It should fix 7.1 HD-Audio in Kodi 17.
-
can use update in menu to update ?
Not tested but probably.
I would always recommend a fresh install (restore button method).

You must be using the wrapper to be getting 7.1 HD Audio.
Android 5.1 and Kodi 17 / 17.1 gives 5.1 audio passthrough max.

After the upgrade to 1.1.10 (coming from 1.1.9), the box does not see my portable USB drive any longer... I am missing some new step ?

Did you install the correct firmware? i.e. not Q5 Pro firmware on Q10 Pro or vice versa?

I have the Q5 and installed the right version - maybe I can try a reinstall - sounds like nobody is having this problem then.
will report back later.

Can anyone confirm that HDMI-CEC is now fixed?

Whats about the HDR aspect ratio problem?? Please refer to the following thread http://www.futeko.com/newforum/index.php?topic=1682.60 (http://www.futeko.com/newforum/index.php?topic=1682.60). Why isn't that issue fixed by the current Firmware. Lot's of people waiting for a solution. Before we can enjoy a poster feature the base functionality should be guaranteed by futeko. Will that problem be fixed in the Firmware futeko will release by end of march? If yes great :D and if no, why not :-\?

This update is a joke from the users ...., "multimedia" built-in player is a fucking joke ..., pulls the posters some "shit" to the movies on the disk ... absolutely nothing brings. I downloaded (retracted) to 5.1 Android, I just lost time ... if same as Himedia will actuate the version to Android 7.1 is the device lands in garbage and change to Zidoo or Zappiti (although with these Frenchman does not want to have something Common because the device is programmatically hardly refined, but the image reproduced from a high quality disc ..).
Himedia to work because for now it's a "pile of shit" you serve customers ...

android 5.1 1.1.10 version, .... i return to 1.09 ****
Very disappointed with this update, there work fewer things than before, is it a joke, really do you work months on this??? I cant believe it, i ever though the chinese people are much more professional, but there isnt it. What a blame of work, and workers, this isnt the release promise of a High End media player. :(

I prefer if himedia display offline wallpaper than online wallpaper.
Every folder of my movies contains its movie poster .
I hope futeko can do that in the next update :-\

On CN FW is was like this, If your local poster / fanart are name it like Kodi export from library is use it.
Give a try it, I hope they keep it on EN FW too

I have made that point to HiMedia. The app needs more options for manual control. I've also asked for a file name and text (no poster) mode.

usb 3.0 port not working ???
Are you sure? There's been no other feedback saying same.
-
To me, it seems faster (after several on and off the box), the android os take less storage than previous. for wall poster, it would be better if it is combined with current media center since its appearance looks better.
the DVD folder still cannot be played properly, however Kodi can do that.
Kodi 17.1 not working with this 5.1.1 android on Q10 pro in terms of audio (even just transcode). Its skin look better. I really hope that Himedia find the way for it to work with Q10 pro (5.1 or Nougat)

Well, with this firmware when I connect my USB 3.0 disk to the right side port (left ports are not working), it is recognized as USB 2.0, so it seems to be a new issue.

On Q10 Pro? There are no USB ports on the right of the casing, just three on the left. Of these the leftmost one is USB3.

Is there anyway to use Kodi 17 with API of Kodi 16.1 (I mean just utilise the front end appearance of Kodi 17) ?
-
Hi. I just upgraded my Q10 pro to latest Android 7 version. I wanted to try this Wallposter option. I read the instructions and under My Apps I do not see a Wallposter app. How do I get the Wallposter app? Thanks for your help.
-
Thanks, this clarifies it indeed.
Maybe easier to remember: The inside of a USB3 port is usually Blue and of standard UB2 ports it is Black. Valid for (almost) all equipment with USB ports.
For USB 3.1 (double speed) it should be Red.

@Futeko
Where is the promised new version for 5.1 and working main feature like HDR with correct aspected ratio (bug fix release promised for end of march)?
These kind of customer support is unbelievable, we get cosmetics feature instead of functionality we should have from the beginning.
Never wasted more money for a device than for Himedia player.
Please give us a firm date for the bug fix.
Thanks.
-
I agree
-
I am a retailer and not the manufacturer. As much as I'd like to be able to give you a guaranteed fix date, I cannot. I rely on what HiMedia tell me.
The new firmware promised for end of March is Android 7 not 5.1. A test version of it was released on the next Android 7 firmware thread on 31-MAR. It didn't deliver what we all wanted but it at least showed progress.
I met with HiMedia last week and made it very clear to them that the main bugs (Kodi 17.1 HD Audio, HDR aspect ratio, subtitle stutter/gaps) must be fixed. I was as direct as possible.
What came from that meeting (and what we knew already) is that the Kodi and HDR aspect ratio problems require fixes from HiSilicon. These problems are apparent on other HiSilicon based hardware too. The advantage HiMedia have is that they share a parent with HiSilicon (Huawei). This means fixes will come first to HiMedia.
In the meantime the HDR aspect ratio problem can be worked around by using a different media player app (e.g. Archos Video Player).

Question 1:
So other media players are not using the HiSilicon SDK like the HiMedia Player so they can play HDR 4K properly. But to get the full advantages of the chipset itself you should use the HiSilicon SDK. Am I correct? Do you know what these advantages are?
Question 2:
Why don't you make a sticky thread (or include it as a sub-thread under FAQ) about how to replace HiMedia Player with MX Player and Archos? I mean you said that "Kodi 17.1 HD Audio, HDR aspect ratio, subtitle stutter/gaps" are the main bugs now. MX Player solves two (HDR, subtitle, but no HD audio for DVD/Bluray images) and Archos solves two (Kodi, HDR, but lack of proper subtitle support) as well. Frankly, if they didn't fix all these 3 in this month you should make these fixes widely known and available in the FAQ or you should take down the advertised "ULTRA-HD 4K HDR" support from the main page because it's just false advertisement. This goes to Kodi and proper subtitle handling as well.

And if were speaking from SDK level fixes, please let' s not forget the other -immemorially hanging-- mayor bugs:
1. Proper DVD frame rate switching,
2. Proper 3D iso frame rate,
3. Screensaver/dimmer in HimediaPlayer,
4. Correct and more "intelligent" Auto subtitle encoding recognition (on "other than English" languages as well...)
(And this list is still very far from attempting to be comprehensive.)
(I won't even mention the other common "side bug" fixes and appreciated feature extension requests.-> Tho' they are expected as well by many of us, and some of them even promised here a long time ago... And that's why well known and could be listed by many of us in a blink, just from remembrance.)
Thank you!

I saw that someone else may or may not have similar issue with this particular firmware (not sure if there was confusion of Q5 vs. Q10 Pro). When I installed Q10 Pro firmware downloaded from HiMedia web site, and installed, I lost a USB 2.0 port. When looking at the 3 USB ports on the left ( 1 x USB 3.0 and 2 x 2.0) the middle USB 2.0 would provide power to a drive but was not available nor could be read. The USB 3.0 and 1 x USB 2.0 were available. Downgrading back to 1.0.9 restored functionality. Thoughts?

That's a known bug with 1.1.0, and has been reported to HiMedia.

Appreciate the quick update. I was about ready to "try" 1.1.0 again but will wait until next 2.0.X firmware (hopefully fixing the inability to access network drives) or 1.1.X to fix this issue. Saved me some time :)

I hope they will come soon with a good firmware for Android 7 and Kodi 17.

Attention guys, this firm destroyed all my films at the usb-2.0-port on the left side. Every film stutter now :-[ I'm now back to the firm 1.0.9. I have a backup from my fim-files and they play all fine now again. This box is very dangerous.

lastest update unable to continue play the download series episode, it random jump to next episode after each episode end, it will not continue to next next episode.

News, this Firm destroyed but still my HDD. Explanation will follow later. With another ext. HDD is all okay. Thanks HiMedia THX HiMedia >:(

Is the subtitle download problem with the Himedia Wrapper fixed in last firmware version? In previous versions only download subtitles in English.
Besides using the wrapper there is another issue when changing the subtitles timing, it only allows up to 10 +/- seconds delay (the original player allow much more).

Stop asking questions and wait for the new firmware!!! >:(
Hi mate, what's the matter? I was just asking a simple question to avoid flashing again and again and see the issue is still unresolved since the first firmware version.
Asking is one of the purpose of the forum I think, you can avoid answering if you don't want or you don't know.
-
Just read and you see that nothing is solved, we all wait for the new software that solve all the problems!
-
I used this version normally until several days ago, when I press Power off button on Q10 pro remote, the box goes black for a second then the message appear "HiRMservice stopped". I have to press OK to exit the message box and press Power off again to shut the box down completely. Could anyone help me to solve this? thanks
-
I've recently reverted from Android 7 firmwares (latest was 2.1.2) to a stock and then custom 1.1.0 firmware.
It is definitely better, but I'm experiencing several issues on the Kodi 17 included with it:
- YouTube does not work properly inside Kodi. The only way to get it to work is to use the internal Kodi videoplayer (and not the wrapper) to play clips, and then it's always jittery. That also means that trailers do not play.
- IPTV channels suffer the same, but with them, if I go through the add-on (not the TV section) and manually choose the internal player, they play more or less fine. It's very tedious and unproductive, though.
- MXplayer will play network streams, but will not play content from local network. Tried both manually and automatically via playercorefactory.xml
The options I see are as follows: Update to the later 17.6 version in hopes it will improve things, or Update to the latest 18.2 version, and I suspect that will actually break things since 18.2 does not work very well on this player. I experienced recurring crashes, and the wrapper does not mark files as played.
Any advice? Going back to Android 7 (and firmware 2.1.4) is not a very desirable option since I doubt it will correct much of the issues and Android 7 is heavy on this box.
Thanks.
