Hi, all
New owner of 2 Q5's running Kodi V17 RC3 and I have a couple of gripes
Firstly, where did the on-screen stop icon disappear to? Whenever I press return on the remote i have to press it twice then there's a confirmation window asking me if it's stopped playing... wtf?
Secondly, having stopped playback, the player relentlessly plays the next episode whether i like it or not and it won't stop playing subsequent episodes until i switch the bloody thing off so i've had to untick the play next video option in Kodi
Thirdly, The startup playback of a video is delayed. I can hear it, but no video for a few seconds.
Am i doing something wrong? I never had this problem with my shitty chinese boxes that the Q5's have replaced.

I guess you are using the RC3 that came with the Nougat firmware, the final version will not appear as an upgrade, it did not appear for me. Also, unsubscribe from any beta testing. You could try to look for Kodi in the Play Store and see if an upgrade is available. If not, uninstall it and install Kodi 17 from the Play Store, but be aware that you will lose your settings. Second of all, Kodi is using the Wrapper, that is why that message appears when going back. I would recommend using the pause button on the remote instead when you actually want to pause the video. Pressing back will not pause the video, because when you are seeing the video you are actually seeing the Wrapper. I see you already unchecked the option for playing the next episode.
I cannot say anything about the delayed startup. Where are your videos? I have a Q10 Pro and I am using a HDD in it. I did not test USB playback or network playback.

Definitely update Kodi to the full release version 17 (either PlayStore or Kodi.tv website).
The lack of a true stop button on the remote takes getting used..... but you don't really have to!
In the FAQ, there is a link to a wonderful Patch to re-map the "0" key on the remote to become your stop key :)
It works very well and is a worthwhile addition:

Thanks for the help :)
I'm reading files from a NAS. All gigabit linked.
