Title: Kodi 17, forced downsampling FLAC 96kHz to 48kHz
Post by: trigeminus76 on January 29, 2017, 05:24:14 PM
I have not managed it yet to play in Kodi 17 on my HiMedia Q5 Pro "96Khz FLAC stereo files" in lossless quality, there are only 48Khz outputed :-(.
With the internal HiMedia Player this works without problems and my Denon AV Receiver shows full 96kHz.
Passthrough is activated in Kodi,  are there any further settings to set or change?
My Firmware: Q5 PRO FIRMWARE. ANDROID 7. FUTEKO. HMD-2.0.1 2017-01-10.164949

Thanks for your help.

Cheers, Dan

Until Kodi / HiMedia (not sure exactly who's to blame) fix HD-Audio on Kodi 17, HD-Audio must be played through himediaplayer to get passthrough. For audio this means through the himediaplayer app because the wrapper is for video only.

It's the biggest disappointment of Kodi 17 that HD-Audio doesn't work and is the biggest thing I want HiMedia to work on when they get back from CNY.

Thanks for your answer, I will wait for KODI or HIMedia update.
