Hi, since I've got this player, I always noticed that while watching, there are always changes in bright and contrast, but now I started to watch some YouTube videos, with no extreme quality the changes are all the time and more evident. Any way to fix it?

Hello, i have the same problem with the himedia player q5 pro especially with watching series and movies from my external hdd.
My tv settings are correct(eco etc is off) and with my mede8er i did not have that problem.
Its especially with indoor scenes in a tv serie that the brightness changes
Has it to do with the settings of the himedia q5 pro??

What firmware are you on?
I'm on 1.0.9 and I have noticed that constant gamma changes in mostly indoor scenes in videos are back with this firmware. This bug with the Imprex was introduced in the 1.0.5 fw and than fixed in the 1.0.7 fw, but in 1.0.9 it's back again. It's occurrence (like before) varies and depending on the video you watch, in some videos it doesn't show at all, but in some it happens in always the same scenes.
I'm very disappointed, as it seamed that moving from 1.0.7 to 1.0.9 had some very mayor benefits regarding the PQ (I would have almost say the player got "perfect"), but now, with Imprex turned on this basic and annoying bug is back again and it has a very mean impact on movie experience.
Futeko, can you please report it to Himedia, as a mean issue to be fixed in the 1.1.0 fw? (From my side i would trust more in the Android 5.1 line.)
And for the others: for a temporary solution, turn off Imprex and the gamma changes won't appear anymore.

Hi, I'm in firmware 2.01. I will check turning imprex off. How you turn it off in youtube?, I know with mediacenter but not in YouTube

I can't see it. Can you point to a specific Youtube video for testing?

It's not only on youtube, as the other people says, it's in almost every video, mostly on indoor scenes

If you disable Imprex does it correct the problem on videos other than Youtube?

It's the same exact bug that has been on 1.0.5 fw, there were a plenty of complains back than according the issue. Like I've written it was fixed in 1.0.7 and than back again in 1.09. Just read my previous post, it describes the details.

I will report it as a regression to HiMedia and point them to your post.
It can be resolved by turning Imprex off, but I appreciate that many people will want Imprex on.

The effect of the bug is like, when in some indoor scenes (mostly in dialogs) the background of the room (like a lighter wall) becomes to slowly "flash" and change it's brightness constantly. As I remember I had something to do with the "Dynamic Contrast" in the Imprex back in the 1.0.5 fw and tuning it off resolved the gamma changing. I haven't tried it yet, but maybe that's the root of the problem with 1.0.9 as well. So maybe we don't need to turn off the whole Imprex all at once, "just" the "Dynamic Contrast" setting... (I wrote "juts", but it would be good, that after many months and fixes, that we could use the so called "superior PQ enhancer" as it meant and should be, at least...)
And thanks for reporting it to Himedia!

I have the exact same issue. It's def not there when I play the same files on my laptop.. it pulses mid scene as if it's doing brightness averaging or something.
