Title: Kodi backup 1.0.8 crashes
Post by: eccles on January 22, 2017, 10:15:17 PM
I think a new version has installed itself on my Q10 and it's got a python run error.
I had version 1.0.6 still in cache and that works ok. But like an idiot I wondered if the release level of the Q10 was the cause so I dropped back, and have now lost the working version and no way of getting all my thumbnails and other stuff back.
Does anyone have a means of getting the earlier version back please?

Yep. Just found it myself. Thanks.  I was just about to post the same link.
I notice that the new version was only issued on 21st January. Maybe a good idea to turn off autoupdate on this addon for now?
1.0.6 works ok.

Yes, Kodi 17 was loading and then crashing as soon as it tried to update.
I reinstalled 17 and it was fine until I installed Back-up to retrieve my saved copy (which it did successfully and then caused a new crash).  Glad it is a Kodi issue and not the Q10.  I had to use MediaCenter last night instead of Kodi  :'(
Was about to re-install Kodi 16.1 and then found this thread.  I did not think I was the only one.....

I didn't know that there was also a problem with Kodi 17. Kodi 16 runs ok. This report is for an error in version 1.0.8 of the backup addon script which crashed when I tried to start it. Loading the old version 1.0.6 of backup from the above link works ok. The Kodi log shows it's a Python interpreter error so I would imagine it'll get fixed soon enough.
Don't forget to disable autoupdate ASAP for 1.0.6 or it'll get overwritten.

I have KODI 16.1 and I have 1.0.6 version of the Back-Up Add-On installed. Every time I start up KODI I get an error message (displayed in the corner) regarding the Back-Up Add-On.

It's 100% that's because the new 1.0.8 version in some way (maybe it fails to install).

I will try to disable the auto update, to get rid off the message, hope it works.
