Title: How to full Backup ?
Post by: jogobelo on January 19, 2017, 11:37:31 AM: Hello,How to full backup my Himedia q10 pro?
How to create custom firmware and backup them.

I have a problem backup KODI. It will not make me an advance or 7 or Android 5.1 KODI directly via addon BACKUP. Always ends with an error.
Please help me. Well thank you.

And please excuse me if this is addressed, but I found it.

Post by: tmihai20 on January 19, 2017, 01:37:56 PM: You do not need custom recovery. You do need root and an app like Titanium Backup. This is what I use. Do not restore system apps, you could have issues.

Unpack it, run the /bat file and follow the on-screen instructions (you have to provide the LAN IP. Then you install Titanium Backup from Play Store. Like I said before, no custom recovery is needed.

I'm on 2.0.0 and want to upgrade to the latest. I also use nova launcher, which backs up some stuff but I was hoping this solution would backup the apps so I don't have to keep installing them each time I upgrade fw.

- accounts restore not working on Android 7.0
- backup of /sdcad/Android/data/org.xbmc.kodi/files/.kodi/userdata or /sdcad/Android/obb folder have to be done manually.
- can backup some system apps like HiMediaVideoPlayer, NFS, LAN and to restore later just data.

rooting is good or bad??
Is there any method for backups without rooting?

If you bought the box from us and you follow the instructions on this forum then it won't invalidate the warranty.

The OS, settings and apps are stored in the flash memory not the hard drive.

Basically yes, I'm not sure if you can use the sata hard drive as internal memory expansion like you can with a SD card but the core of the OS and main apps will be in always in the flash memory.

That's ok, we all been there. One thing you should know is that there are no perfect android TV boxes and Himedia as it's share of issues. Browse the forum, read the FAQ and you should be able to take the most out of your Q10.
