I made a mention of this in another form, about after updating to the new Android 7 firmware that some apps and things just dont function like they did on the 5.1 firmware. There is no Home option is the setting menu for changing launchers (which is my problem now with Nova Launcher). Also i notice when using ES file explorer in 5.1 i can see the HDD and my flash disk on the side of local ....but on the 7 firmware...its not there, and even how to access the HDD is different. The built in file explorer works great. Just not as pretty , but its basically functional.

Please read around the forum, you are summing up issues that have been discussed before. Launcher cannot be changed because of Nougat, Nova Launcher is not Android TV optimized. I use Nova Launcher on my tablet, but I really like the stock launcher, I even tried the mod that installs Android TV Launcher.
Regarding HDDs, there is a patch that mounts them differently. If you want to access the HDDs, go to /mnt/read_rw and there should be sda1 and so on. Because functionality changed a little bit it does not mean it is bad. I have been using Nougat since it was first released.

"Launcher cannot be changed because of Nougat, "
I don't think that's strictly true. I was using the prev. Nougat firmware (2.0.0) with SquareHome 2 TV launcher as the default-- where pressing the home nav key would take me to it and not Launcher 3D. I could also clear defaults and user another (Nova, say) as my default as well. That option to choose seems missing in the most recent Nougat FW. I can use these launchers---- but home key will always take me first to Launcher3D, making their use problematic.

searched the best i could, and there seems to be alot of issues with the firmware 7, but as for my problem i really didn't see it. I never said it was bad. it just made alot of things that worked really well and that i enjoyed with 5.1 abit difficult and a learning curve for what i was done use to doing. But im learning what works from what does not works with this new firmware.
