Title: Homepage shortcuts
Post by: SSThing on January 16, 2017, 11:08:26 AM
I updated (or so I thought) ES Explorer that is pre-installed to my paid version, fully expecting it to either replace the existing shortcut or use it to launch the Pro version. This is not the case. ES Explorer Pro is installed and standard is uninstalled but the homepage icon/shortcut remains but is unusable.  How can I either remove it to be replaced with Pro or link the existing shortcut to Pro?
Any suggestions?

Move pointer to icon you want to replace, then press menu button and select the new app.

Thank you, but this does not work. All it does is add a new shortcut for Pro without removing the old one.

You are not doing it correctly. Make sure that the old ES Explorer app is selected and hit the menu button (the lower right button). You should see the list of apps. As soon as one of the apps that replace any of the default ones is updated, then the old app will appear there. It is a limitation I discovered. I replace them all the time after updating them.

You are correct . Although I was certain I followed the procedure, I must have messed up because I have just tried again and it has worked, so thank you both.
