Having a major issue with the latest Firmware, it all works fine using the wrapper and then next day I go to watch something and it tries to play for a split second then instanly comes up with an error "External Player Active" "Click OK when player has ended" and kicks me out and if i try to watch it or any others it crashes Kodi. the weird thing is it doesnt do it with all my films / TV Shows.
I thought it was a IP issue or network problem but all is ok there.
if I downgrade back to 1.08 firmware the problem stops.
I have done the upgrade and downgrade twice now, can anyone help. i am running Kodi 17 RC have been using V17 betas for 7 months no issues until firmware upgrade. I have a Q5 Pro.
If I sitch to Kodi player the problem stops and all is fine....
ANYONE HELP ;) ;) ;)

Which firmware, 1.0.9 or 2.0.0?
What source are you playing the media from? NAS? Samba / NFS / DLNA?
If it's a password protected Samba share try running wrapper app and inputting user/pass details.
Also try uninstalling wrapper by running wrapper app, selecting 'use Kodi player', exiting app then re-running wrapper app, selecting 'use wrapper player' and exiting again.

Hi to all,
I'm having troubles too. I use MediaCenter to watch movies and after the update when I'm trying to start it gives me the error "Unfortunately, MediaCenter has stopped".
Some advice? I'm a little bit old and not so skilled in sw/hw, any help will be appreciated!
Thank you, bye.

As above, which firmware version? Where are the files located?
It's impossible to offer support without more info about the problem.

Yes, you're right, I was in panic ;D
Everything ok, I downloaded the 1.09 upgrade and installed from a USB pendrive (I followed your guide).
Now MediaCenter works.

Ok tried everything you have suggested above after reinstalling firmware 2.0.0 for a third time.......
STILL IT WILL NOT PLAY MY MEDIA using the wrapper.
to answer your questions
i was running 1.08 and then 1.0.9 i upgraded using the 2 phase USB method and followed it exactly to the letter.
i have tried doing the wrapper unistall and re install as you suggested and still i have this issue i cant run my media using the wrapper. only works using the Kodi player which is no good to me as i need Dolby Atmos etc.
i use an advancedsettings.xml to point koid to my SQL libary. and a Sources.xml for my mapped NAS drives.
I have put in my NAS user name and password for the SMB shares, but i have run with this set up for years and its only ever had an issue now after upgrading to FW 2.0.0
any ideas as i am seroiusly fed up with this now

Now I just get a balck screen top left corner says HimediaVideoPlayer and bottom middle of screen says Mount Failed.
this is doing my head in, i had no problems with my Q5 Pros before the FW 2.0.0 update so it looks like i can only run FW 1.0.9
it has to be a wrapper problem as all my media runs on Kodi player in FW 2.0.0 but not when wrapper is installed, trouble is i use Dolby Atmos so need wrapper.

I updated from 1.0.8 to 2.0 and everything worked very well. I have 5 NAS units attached to my system using smb to play through the wrapper. After about 1 week things stared to go bad. The wrapper stopped working as did the connection to the NAS units (over LAN). Re-installed 2.0 and still bad so I used the firmware to go back to 5.1 and 1.0.9 and everything worked.
As I had not changed any parameters on my system I can only assume that a bug has manifested in the firmware.
EDIT: I could not connect to all 5 NAS with smb, only 2 of them

I have same problem with Q10pro, Firmware 2.0.0. Some files on USB-Harddisc connected to NAS can't be played. I also had the DHCP problem after update. No ethernet connection, only with manual setting of IP, Gateway etc.
I'm not happy at all with the new firmware, to buggy, I think, I'll go back to 1.0.9.

Just update the Firmware to 2.0.1 and its exactly the same problem so I am stuck with 1.0.9
thought Himedia was supposed to be one of the best.
really fed up with this...........................

I'm not familiar with that kind of setup but it's unusual and is probably why you are seeing errors and others aren't. More likely a general Android 7 + Kodi problem than specific to HiMedia hardware. If Android 5.1 1.0.9 works then I suggest sticking with it until Android 7 / Kodi figure out where the problem is.

So over a year on I thought i would try again this time removing my SQL library and using a stock Firmware so upgraded to 2.07 from 1.09 the reason i didn't stay with the working 1.09 is i need my display resolution to be at 4K and in 1.09 it will not remember the setting after a few days it goes back to 1080p. so went ahead and installed latest firmware all installed fine and guess what same problem again some films play and some films and TV shows do not and i get mount failed.......
This set up with my NAS drives has worked flawlessly with 1.09 as soon as i upgrade to 2.07 it goes to S**T.
No ideas of what to do now because if i go back to 1.09 i get the bug of not remembering diaplay settings and if i stick with 2.09 half my films wont play.
If i use Kodi player they all play fine but then I dont get 7.1 Atmos etc.....
Any ideas as I am at a loss considering i purchased 3 Q5 Pros form you guys............ :'( :'( :'(

Drive mount locations are different Android 7 vs Android 5.1. If you're playing from a backed up Kodi config this will cause problems.
Solution is to re-build Kodi library from scratch.
-
I have rebuilt Kodi Library from scratch that's why i ditched the SQL library as mentioned, so i rebuilt a local library onto the Q5 pro from scratch and still have this issue.............
