Hi folks. Just found the forum which is simply amazing. I am a recent purchaser of a Q10 and love it. I've used a number of cheap boxes in the past but jeez, this is groundbreaking compared to what I've prev used.

I'm going to get another Himedia box for upstairs and am not sure which one. I don't really need another Q10. My Q10 is with a 4K SUHD HDR samsung. Upstairs I currently have a 1080p Plasma which is going strong but will be replaced with a 4K unit in a year ish, but probably just a lower spec 4K, nothing amazing.

I've been looking at the Q5 or H8 Plus. Which should I go for. Is the Q5 newer than the H8 Plus. I'm a little confused btwn the two and what the major differences are to be honest.

Q5 Pro is a much better product than H8 / H8+.

H8 is based on a Rockchip chipset which Rockchip has all but abandoned (as is typical for Rockchip).

Q5 Pro is based on the latest HiSilicon chipset and will get support for years to come. Also, HiMedia and HiSilicon are related companies (both Huawei) so can collaborate to fix things / add features. This is very unusual for an Android box.
