Title: Completely frustrated!!!
Post by: SSThing on December 31, 2016, 05:44:29 PM
I have spent all day today trying to get this thing to work as it should.
I finally got round to upgrading the firmware to 2.0 yesterday (following the instructions to the letter), only to find out that several of my Kodi addons no longer worked. Since then I have tried everything I can think of, I have tried various versions of Kodi, reinstalled everything, deleted everything, downgraded back to firmware v1.0.1 and then tried every subsequent firmware one at a time and still my addons would not work.
Eventually, I am back on to 2.0 and I decided to stick there until the addons themselves were (hopefully) updated.
But now I cannot get SMB shares to work! My pc is shared, my drive on which my movies are stored is shared, my folder containing the movies is shared and I have turned off the security settings so no password is necessary. These shares show up and play on my tablet but no mater what I try I cannot get past
Workgroup/###-DESKTOP. I keep getting asked for a user name and password, I have input this more times than I can remember but cannot get the Q10 Pro to see the actual drive and/or movies folder. The option to leave this blank is denied.
I feel like smashing this to pieces because it is, at the moment, a complete waste of money for me.

I cannot get past Workgroup/###-DESKTOP.

Did you tried connecting to the desktop's IP address instead of the hostname?
