Hm, is there any workaround available (e.g. another app on the Q10 Pro) to play an DVD ISO File as same as an real DVD?
I checked also to play an real DVD with a external PC DVD Player attached to one the USB Port of the q10.
That doesn't work either. Is there any solution in place to use the q10 pro as a "normal" DVD Player with a DVD Drive attached to USb?

I am wondering that this very essential (and often needed) function (s) does not work on this modern hard- and software.
Is this no longer needed nowadays or are there any technical limitations?

You can get full DVD ISO menus in Kodi if you use Kodi internal player for playback. Navigate to the .iso and press remote menu button. Choose play using.. then 'DVDplayer'.

Q5/Q10 Pro (in common with every other Android based product) cannot play commecial DVDs from a USB DVD player.

I have an old USB external Samsung DVD rom (SE-208 DB) , and tried to connect with Himedia q10 pro, at first attemp nothing happened even file manager unable to detected it.
So I decided to figure it out with user manual of the product and find out this dvd rom have an AV Connectivity feature.
With this feature enabled, Himedia now can directly plays CD audio dan Dvd movie flawlessly.

Here is the step by step to enabled this feature
1. Attach DVD rom usb cable to Himedia with power off
2. Turn on  Himedia, push eject button on dvd rom and insert CD Audio or DVD movie, but don't close the lid.
3. With the the lid opened, press again eject button for 2-3 second
4. The led light on dvd rom will continues on, it indicated that DVD rom is on the AV connectivity mode.
5. Close the the lid with cd or dvd inserted, wait a little longer because on this mode DVD rom will take longer time to read (or convert) data.

Since i dont have many type of Dvd rom, i can't confirmed this method will works with different brands, as far i knew Lg and Samsung have the same method to enable this feature.

With Using DVD Player Apps from google play, On my DVD Rom CD audio file (cda) converted to WAV,  plays Dvd movie file (vob) natively and support dvd menu file (ifo)

If you have a bunch collections cd audios or dvd movies, just give it a shot, I realized not all dvd rom have this feature but its worth to try.

When I do that I get two choices:
VideoPlayer(Default)
VideoPlayer

Why no "DVDplayer" choice?

You've found an old thread.

The name of Kodi internal player changed in Kodi 17 to 'Videoplayer' from 'DVDPlayer'.

Why do I only get one choice? (Video player (default) or Video player)?  Which gives me the full menus?
