Title: Using the Himedia Q10Pro with Ethernet connected Server
Post by: manley on December 02, 2016, 10:39:17 AM
I have just tried my Q10 connected to my Windows 10 computer using it as a server running Twonky connected via ethernet cable. The picture and sound appears to be slightly better than when playing the film via usb connected hard drive. In both cases I am using the inbuilt Media player of the Q10 for actual playback. Does Twonky send the file info processed to the Q10 or is the Q10 still doing the processing?

Twonky is a DLNA media server. I'm not very familiar with it but it might be transcoding the video before sending it to Q10 Pro.

You'll get the same quality as USB if you use Samba or NFS shares instead.
