I had Kodi 17 beta loaded on the previous build but on the new Android 7 trying to load Kodi gives an error report "not suitable for your tv"
Any ideas ?

Probably you've downloaded the 64bit (ARMv8A) version.
Download the 32bit (ARMv7A) version and it should work, i have kodi 17 running on Android 7.
Be prepared though that you will lose audio pass-trough with the kodi player (wrapper does work)
Oh and looun's frequency switcher add-on also doesn't work

you're correct.... Silly me!
Many thanks

I tried kodi beta last night, i like the interface but when playing movies from a plugin it freezes almost every 15-30 seconds; same plugin/movies/sources have no issues with stable kodi (16.1) or spmc. I didn't tried local or lan files.
I use the stock android 7 firmware.

I am playing back from a LAN network with no issues.
However I did find that if I power off the HiMedia whilst within Kodi the video signal goes off but the box does not turn off and locks up requiring the power to be unplugged and restored.
