Hi everybody, have an issue that when I connect the Q10 Pro to my Yamaha 3020 Receiver, the ARC on my Sony 8509 stops working, it seems to kill it, I have to go into menus on both receiver and tv to re enable it, an issue as I have just got amazon prime to watch The Grand Tour, I tried to download the Amazon tv app to the Q10 , but of course it won't allow me to stream tv, just buy stuff, obviously the Q10 is not an approved device, bit annoyed a package I paid for is not available to watch on a device of my choice, so ended up watching Clarkson in tv sound
2 questions, 1 anything I can do to stop Q10 preventing ARC working on the tv, 2 their are lots of boxes for sale on e.bay etc, that have software on that allow watching of amazon etc, without paying, is their anything I can load on the Q10 to do the same, I don't want everything they offer which is pirate, just the ability to watch a package I have paid for, preferably in better than 2.0 sound, which is all the Sony TV will provide via ARC, which is all Amazon allow, repeat I don't want to PIRATE anything, just do something I should have been able to do in the first place.
Cheers Chris

Edit, it seems now if I unplug the Q10 hdmi lead from Yam 3020 the ARC returns on tv, still a pain in the butt.

I just loaded the Amazon Prime app and it works for me. The resolution is I think standard even on the highest setting so no HD or 4K.
Have you checked your firmware? I had an early firmware and the online update button claimed it was the latest firmware. I tried to upgrade to the
latest one via usb but it kept failing. In the end I had to install each seperate update in order to eventually get to the latest one.

Amazon Prime definitely works on FW 1.0.7 and later. Installation as per this guide: http://www.pocket-lint.com/news/136244-how-to-watch-amazon-video-on-your-android-phone-or-tablet
Resolution is 480p, as it is with Amazon Prime on nearly all Android devices.

Watching subscription Amazon without paying is illegal! That's kind of the modern definition of pirate..
Yes all the apps and add-ons that enable such things can be installed, but we don't know how.
We will delete any further discussion of it from this forum, this forum is for legal use only.

We have requested a fix for this from HiMedia many times. We live in hope.
Otherwise, either cut pin 13 on the HDMI cable: http://www.futeko.com/newforum/index.php?topic=166.0
Or use one of these: https://www.amazon.co.uk/LINDY-HDMI-Less-Adapter-Female/dp/B00DL48KVI/

Ok thanks for that, will delete pin 13, and try that, re the other issue will see what firmware I have and upgrade if not 1.0.7 on, I would add re your comments, that I wasn't wising to PIRATE anything, but merely watch something I have already PAYED for, I won't comment here re Amazons business practice in this regard.

Understood. :) We just have to take a tough line on the piracy thing. 8)

If you lost all apps then the firmware update failed. You lose some apps when doing a factory reset, this is what will happen if you attempt an update but the device fails to find the update.zip file.
I suggest updating firmware again to get apps back and then reinstalling Amazon.
Make sure USB pen drive is formatted as FAT32 and that it has the one file on it, extracted from the download archive, called 'update.zip'. Q10 Pro firmware 1.0.8: http://www.futeko.com/newforum/index.php?topic=1303.0
Or, if you're feeling brave, Android 7 FW 2.0.0 was released today. The install process is more complex: http://www.futeko.com/newforum/index.php?topic=1392.0

Ok, thanks for that, screwed up when I updated to 1.0.8, I forgot to unzip the file to the usb drive stupid boy, however I have now successfully upgraded to Android 7.0 whoopee, got all the apps back, except Amazon, now I can watch it on the tv, without Q10 killing ARC, I might not bother as the tv does 1080p and 4k on amazon, they obviously have a deal with Sony. I prob won't bother to put Amazon back on the Q10
