Yes but I would advise waiting until Kodi 17 final. It won't be long now. When final is release you'll be able to install it from Play Store like any other app.

To install Kodi 17 beta now:

* Download apk from here (doing this on Q5/Q10 pro is easiest): https://kodi.tv/download/
* If you've downloaded the apk in Chrome on Q5/Q10 Pro then when download is complete a message will pop up asking if you want to install. Select Yes.
* Kodi 17 will replace Kodi 16.1.

After installing Kodi 17 you may need to reinstall the wrapper. Do this by running the wrapper app (App menu - Wrapper) and selecting 'Use wrapper player'.

Thanks for the quick response. Hope the new Kodi will be coming out pretty soon, because it looks really nice.

To download Kodi 17 beta for Himedia Q10 Pro should I download  ARMv7a (32bit) or ARMv8A (64bit). Thanks for a prompt reply.

ARMv7a (32bit).

I've just tried and ARMv8A (64bit) won't install. More info here: http://forum.kodi.tv/showthread.php?tid=294895

http://mirrors.kodi.tv/nightlies/win32/Krypton/

I went to above and downloaded a 79.6 mb file named      KodiSetup-20170119-53a5c83-Krypton

To update my HIMEDIA Q10 PRO existing KODI to KODI 17 can I simply copy the downloaded file
to a usb flash drive and connect the usb flash drive to HIMEDIA Q10 PRO and run the update?

I don't understand what you try, Q10Pro run Android not Windows.

Download wanted apk with Chrome on you Q10Pro and open to install.

I finally figured out how to START the Kodi 17 android download via Chrome on my Q10 Pro.

A pop-up appears that the download has started and then the pop-up disappears

No download progress is shown but I assume the download continues until finished - correct?

How long should the apx 81 mb download take via cable high speed internet via the Q10 Pro?
( It takes apx 10 seconds to download the file to my pc. It has been over 20 minutes via the Q10 Pro and download still has not completed? )

I assume at some point a new pop-up will appear asking me to install the completed download - correct?

Assuming I get the update installed how would I delete the install download from the Q10 Pro?

Chrome Android handles downloads in a difficult way. Once the pop-up is gone I see no way to get back to the download from within Chrome.

The Kodi 17 download should take seconds with fast internet on Q10 Pro.

It will be downloaded to sdcard/Download. Access this either with a file manager (there is a simple one pre-installed) or by going to:

My Apps - Downloads.

Good evening
Sorry for the trivial question, but what is the difference between version ARM, ARMv7a (32-bit) and x86 version only.

Thank you

Thank you for the answer, but I knew that downloading from playstore you have the correct version.
My question remained unanswered, I wanted to know what was the difference between the various versions.

Thank you

Some wikipedia reading will help you to understand.

x86 (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/X86)
ARM (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ARM_architecture)

HiMedia Q10/Q5 Pro is power by Hisilicon Hi3798M V200 witch is ARM Cortex-A53, but f/w is running on 32bit Android SDK.
Download ARM (32bit) Kodi version to run on HIMedia Q10/Q5 Pro.

So long short story like @spurs85 write ARMv7a(32bit) , ARMv8A(64bit), x86(32bit), x64(64bit).

Thank you for the answer, but I knew that downloading from playstore you have the correct version.
My question remained unanswered, I wanted to know what was the difference between the various versions.

Fairly simple the ARM verisons are for the typical medial players HW (ARM processors) and the X versions for PC based hardware (Intel processors).
The 32 bit runs 32 bit compiled code and 64 bit the same compiled and developed for 64 bit. For most programs/APP's the actual source code is identical regarding functionality. Under Windows there are still only a few programs developed for 64-bit only.

The main advantage for 64-bit is being able to address more memory (above 4 GByte) . For media players I don't see any advantage just disadvantages (needing more RAM to do the same thing). Obviously one needs a 64-bit OS to run 64-bit APP"s under it. Never seen a 64-bit Android myself anywhere, so forget about KODI 64-bit support.

Okay, so i've tried many KODI 17 versions now.
Official releases, nightlies, test builds... they all suck.

Music, party mode - crashes the app every time.
Sometimes after one song, sometimes after ~3 songs.
Loading screens all over the place - if you enter the video addons window, if you've just opened an addon, if a video just closed...
so many f***ing loading screens.

Oh, but they introduced a great new feature in recent builds:
The back button on the remote is not working anymore.

Stay with KODI 16 as long as you can.

Kodi 17 at the moment working on Android hopelessly 7.
Problems with sound in movies or problems with the music.

I think that perhaps our questions rather we must begin to be addressed to developers of Kodi better WSPR for other devices than Nvidia Schields because it's probably the only device where Kodi 17 acts as correctly ...
