Hello everybody
I'm new here and new with HiMedia Q10. I have a lot of BR's and DVD's ripped as BR-folders and VIDEO_TS. HiMedia plays only main stream, no menus, extras etc. I also tried ISO's but no luck. So, is there any support in this ultramodern box for BR and DVD menus? I prefer Himedia's own player, not KODI.
I have ancient Tvico media player, bought five years ago. It can do both. It's very slow too...

me kodi with HIMEDIA iso dvd player does not start
how do you solve?
thank you

Theres no support for the original title menus for DVD/BD-s in these players, just the "lite" menu for chapter select. And as far as I know theres also no plan in the futher updates that would solve this. Am I right Futeko?!
Also DVD support looks very peripherial in Himedia's PoV. Tho' many of us have reported here the DVD related issues, they didn't even solved the correct deinterlacing for any kind of DVD's in the newest (and couplest) firmware. So the status is so far, that even if the Himedia player would have a much better PQ, paradoxically you must rely on KODI's player in the cases of DVD's, since it -at least- doesn't degrade the PQ as much due bad deinterlacing as Himedia player does (you can see it on the jagged edges). Use the fremarate patch for KODI to get best results....

These are very sad news. I don't need youtube or facebook in my mediaplayer, but support to BR and DVD menus are must. ( I hope my old DVico TVIX 6600 will never die.) Is there available any alternative for KODI??

You can use any android player you like VLC or MXPlayer. I'm sure some of them are able to handle menus. There maybe a way as well to make the wrapper switch to a 3rd part player instead of the 2 default.

Mentioned players may do DVD Menus but definitely not BR menus. All old school players did DVD menus perfectly, but under Android even that is a no go mosty.

Most DVD iso will play will Himediaplayer. All will play with Kodi internal player (and MX player / VLC etc).
HiMediaplayer ISO support will be improved in future firmware.
The problem where HiMediaplayer outputs DVDs at 25/30Hz (when they should be 50/60Hz) requires an SDK update (base HiSilicon chipset firmware). This will happen with the upcoming Android 7 update. We have repeatedly told HiMedia/HiSilicon about the 25/30 problem for DVD so I hope+presume they'll have it fixed in new firmware.

Finally a promising response, me -and I guess many of us- were in the twilight zone of doubfullnes since a long time regarding that with how high priority was this issue handled (both by Futeko's and Himedia's site). Hope you'll be right with Himedia's approach and -finally- we get it right in the next fw, Thanks!
