When starting you tube from the front screen to play a live news stream, eg france 24 or aljazeera and others, but every time when starting the play it gives a message on the screen "Unfortunately You tube has stopped", I then press the OK and the you tube video live stream plays. This is quite annoying with this pop up message popping up every time and resulting in additional clicks to remove the pop up message.
I have tried to update the built in you tube for android tv but it will not update.
I have managed to remove the apk with root uninstaller fromplay store but then the you tube on the front screen launcher just sits there dead.
I know I can install the normal you tube app from play store and this works without the error, but for me its easier to navigate around in the built in you tube android tv with a remote and I would really like it to work without the error.
Does anyone have a recommendation or a solution to fix this pop up error?

Download YouTube for Android TV apk from apkmirror (http://www.apkmirror.com/?s=youtube+google+tv&post_type=app_release&searchtype=apk) and give a try.

I tried that this morning. It won't install. Seems Youtube on 4K3D is a system app, can't be uninstalled/updated.
Would that be the same for your custom firmware?

Custom firmware base on HMD 3.0.3 (http://forum.softpedia.com/topic/999318-himedia-q5q10-quad-core-android-442-tv-box/page__st__414#entry18495056) have non system app YouTube Google TV 1.2.7 witch still work, can be update to YouTube Google TV 1.3.11 or easy removed, not linked to Launcher.
