I had my Q5 working perfectly with the Himedia wrapper played my 3D ISOs with 7.1.
I upgraded to the latest firmware and now I cannot get this to work. I can play the files using the Himedia player, but when i use Kodi and the wrapper 3D ISOs or just ISO do not play and Kodi just shows the loading screen.
After wiping clean my Q5 and re installing the firmware plus various versions of Kodi I still cannot get my 3D ISOs or ISOs to play with the wrapper, so have come to the conclusion that it must be something with my Synology SMB setup. I have tried password and non password accounts but the result is still the same, here is my setup screen in Synology DS1815+, is there something here that would stop the wrapper player seeing my files.

If your NAS has a fixed IP address does adding the share in Kodi via 'Files - Browse for new share - Add network location - server name as fixed IP' make any difference?
-
I have a fixed IP on my NAS and this morning completed a full clean install of the latest firmware.
I have loaded on one folder containing just one 3D ISO, it plays no problem in the HiMedia player, but i get this is Kodi after loading the wrapper

One more thing in troubleshooting.
I loaded the 3D ISO onto a USB 3 drive and tried it in Kodi with the wrapper and it worked fine with no problems, so my problem is definitely in the network setup.
Still can't understand why it plays on the Himedia player but not via the wrapper in Kodi.

I can replicate this problem so it is a bug. I've already notified HiMedia about it and hopefully they will issue an fix ASAP.
In the short term, firmware 1.0.7 does not have this problem so you could go back to that FW, and the files can be played through the Himedia Media App in 1.0.8.
-
I have already tried going back to 1.0.7 and I still had the same problem, although it was working so i am totally confused.
Is there a RAM that heeds to be totally flushed before going back to 1.0.7.??
-
The firmware update completely wipes the box so if the problem persists after downgrading to 1.0.7 then it must be a server setup problem. Exactly what I'm not sure though.
I will do more testing today and try figure it out.

Thanks..

Have now tested with 1.0.7 and various versions of Kodi + wrapper and get the same problem. This is with a D-link NAS, samba with no password.
Really weird how it carries through after a firmware install and only affects ISOs.
I've already mentioned it to HiMedia but will talk to them more about it tomorrow early morning (China daytime) and report back here.
-
Thanks for the update, thought i was going mad......

I haven't been able to discuss this with HiMedia today because it's Labour Day (May 1st) national holiday in China. Forgot about that yesterday.
We've spent a few hours again today trying to figure this out with different firmwares and different versions of Kodi and we've come to the conclusion that there is a general problem with the himediawrapper, Kodi 14.2 / 15, and ISOs via Samba network.
Local ISOs play normally, as do Samba network files of all other sorts. This behaviour is the same across 1.0.7 and 1.0.8 firmwares.
It would be useful feedback if any other customers have Kodi 14.2 installed with himediwrapper and are succesfully playing ISOs and/or 3D ISOs?
We won't be able to get any better answers until HiMedia are back on Monday. If there is a general problem then I'll be pushing for a quick fix (updated himediawrapper.apk) from them.
Sorry for the delay in getting this dealt with.

Thanks for the reply.
Is it worth reposting the problem as a new topic for feedback as my original topic was very specific.?
