Not used this for some time - I believe I have Ollys firmware loaded.
I want to connect to the player using ftp.

In settings all I see is Bftp and Sftp with just swithes for on/off

Is ftp on as default, does anyone remember the ftp user name and password ?

ok, Ftp is not enabled as standard
BftpD works what ever that is, user anonymous or ftp
I can connect to the SD1 main drive and read/write through my PC.

I am trying to connect an ip cam to record data to the hdd through ftp - basically just using it as an ftp server.
It connects saying the ftp is successful and the dir is good but errors when trying to save data saying check the ftp.

Maybe bftpd is not standard or i need to setup a password ?

I don't remember specifically how FTP options worked on 910B, however bftpd has a website and extensive help pages. The answer may be there.

Turned out to be a permissions problem, which I changed using your info.
Couldn't figure out how to change the password though but the user 'ftp' is in the config file as not requiring one.
Guess I was lucky with that.

Anyhow, the 910B lives on as an ftp server for may cameras.
Nice and easy to see the recordings / snapshots on the TV as well !

Hmm, thought I had this sussed, turns out any files saved to the drive are lost when the unit is re booted ??

Not sure if I am saving them in the right place, I have made the Foscam folder for the images in the following locations, all with the same result ?

ftp://192.168.2.55/mnt/volumes/C:/Foscam/
ftp://192.168.2.55/var/usbmounts/sda1/Foscam/

Are they all wrong or should I use a separate drive ?

/mnt/volumes/C:/Foscam/, /var/usbmounts/sda1/Foscam/  are symbolic link to mount point /mnt/usbmounts/sda1/Foscam/

Lost file just write to disk after reboot is know problems of Realtek players, theoretically fix on players with Bootloader-6501 (aka 0065 for other brand).
I don't know HiMedia to have public version of bootloader-6501. HiMedia 910B come with Bootloader-5505(aka 0055) and Micca EP950-EP600-G2 have Bootloader-5505/6501.
So try to use ext3 format disk inside of NTFS will have less problems and check if your firmware have implemented safe shutdown option and is ON.

Thanks, I will look into the bootloader.
When you say format disk ext3 within ntfs, is that using the 910 format option or on a PC ?

Sorry I don't  remember if format from this SDK is some with old player with RTD 1073, so best way is to format ext3 from PC.
