Title: Q10 pro PSU
Post by: eccles on September 24, 2016, 03:05:05 PM
Just taken delivery of a s/h Q10 Pro but it came with a 5v PSU. Can anyone confirm that it should be 12v as is the case with Q103D4K?
Thanks

Very sure. It needs to be 12V at 2A.
If you are going to buy one, better to get a 12V 4A with earthed power cord.

Thanks. Amazing that the box actually booted and played movies from the USB port at all with the 5v. Just tried the one from my previous box which is 12v 2a and it seems ok.
Thanks also for the tip regarding 4 amps.

Indeed a surprise. The 12V is DC/DC down converted to 5V for most components and USB. It looks like the 12V is only used for the Internal HDD then. That one won't work for sure with just 5V.

"s/h" is short for "second hand". It was a private sale. The  seller had more than one Android box and mixed the power supplies up. He should be sending me the correct one in a few days.
Regards,
Mike.
