Hi Everybody,
It seems that i have a problem i can't figure out by myself.
If i go to Kodi and i activate the passthrough option i get a loud static sound.
Stereo is just fine no problem.
Settings on the box are HDMI=AUTO
SPDIF=closed
In Kodi:
Number of channels 5.1
Passthrough=activated
If i deactivate the passthrough everything is fine but no 5.1 output.
Can anybody help me out? ;)

Have exactly the same issue with mine. Also the same issue on my Philips Android TV. Seems to be a Kodi related problem. Wait for kodi 7?
-
Put the volume to maximum.
-
Not sure what the volume at maximum has to do with it as it is a passthrough setting.
I've tried the alpha 3 for Kodi v17 and the static is still there for me. The wrapper works fine as always but I like the features of the Kodi player better so I hope this can be solved.

Very nice mediasystem Kodi, but some bugs will never get their solutions I'm afraid of :-[

Hi Guys,
Thanks for the feedback.
I did some more search and it is a problem in Kodi, some people also reporting this issue with the Shield and other Android boxes.
as for a fix?.....after reading a lot on this problem i coudn't find any :(
Maybe with Kodi 17???

Kodi (android version) is abandoned ,kodi 17 have lot of bug.
There are any developments working on it.
Use SPMC or kodi 16.
-
Kodi 16.1 and SPMC with passtrough working fine, no static noise. Kodi 17 is not recommended on android, now.

I had the same problem with my Denon X2200. A new firmware update released today for the Denon has fixed it. Before the update I used S/PDIF to the amp and it worked, in KODI use Number of channels 2.0, see if that works.

Clearly passthrough is working for a lot of people. I have a Denon AVR-X3200 and the himediaplayer works fine but not the Kodi player with passthrough enabled.
I suspected it was a setting (or firmware update) on the receiver side. I'll try SPMC too and check for a new Denon firmware just in case. How specifically did you check for an update to the Denon firmware? Thanks.

The receiver will tell you with a pop up when an update is available. I believe the update for the 3200 is coming on 29th August. Check this link for more info:

sorry captinmike i see you allready answered that :)
-
So the issue seems to be with Denon's firmware. I'm glad you are making some headway. I'll have to wait for my firmware update for the x3200.
Can you confirm the Himediaplayer still does passthrough properly?
-
Haven't used Himediaplayer from within KODI, I'll try it later and report back.
Update:
Just tried the wrapper in KODI, audio passes through OK including HD audio, all going via HDMI to the Denon.
-
To close the loop, the new Denon AVRX3200 firmware was released earlier this week. I have tested passthrough with the Kodi internal player and it works now with Dolby Digital and DTS. No more static!
I can now confirm that DTS:X also works well with the Q10 pro regular media player and my Denon.

Great for you, happy I have no problem with my Pioneer VSX-921

I have a strange Problem with my Setup :)
I use the Q10pro with HDMI Passthrough to my Pioneer VSX 1131 (new 2016 Modell with Full HDMI 2.0, HDR, BT 2020 etc,)
ANY HD Audio Bitstream Passthrough works from Q10 pro like Dolby Atmos, DD+, TrueHD and DTS HD MA but NOT DTS High Resolution Audio
DTS MA works, but not HRA, any other Player like Popcornhour works with DTS HRA, but the Q10 PRo outputs only DTS Core from HRA here
tried everything , dont know whats up here... very strange
And i had another Problem with Audio Drop Outs!
This Problem was fully solved with the Lindy HDMI Adapter to block HDM CEC (i had Problems with HDMI CEC caused by Q10pro like blocked ARC etc)
