Title: syntax for connecting to internal storage smb share
Post by: switchblade on July 24, 2016, 06:41:06 PM
I read the FAQ that we can turn SAMBA on and access the Internal storage via the network, SMB share.  I am using Total Commander to connect via SMB but I cannot connect to my Q10 Pro.

I tried
ip address/mnt/sda/sda1
ip address/sdcard

Yes, SAMBA is turned on in Settings and I use administrator for User and no password currently set.

It won't connect.

Please confirm correct path when connecting from a Windows pc.

\\<ip address>\share
..
\\<ip address>\share \sdcard
\\<ip address>\share\sda\sda1

I tried both and could not connect.  I'm using the word "share".  If that is not correct, what do I use for the share name?  I also have not set a password, does that matter?

I have not created any shares.  I only confirmed SAMBA was on.

Ok, confirmed that I do have the SMB 1.0 future box checked.  I connect to SMB shares all the time, on my unraid server.

looks like I am typing the path correctly, and using administrator as the user name with no password - yet it doesn't work??

I can ping the IP address and the Auto Frame Patch run_me.bat file connected to my box without any issues.  I also tested Internet on my Q10, no issues.

What am I missing here?

Update:  I reset the box with paper clip and installed the firmware again and now it works just fine.  Who knows.  SAMBA was not running, even though the Settings showed it was.  I was not able to see the SMB shares from any of my devices.  I did the last firmware OTA, maybe that is why.

Thanks for the help!
