Title: Question
Post by: nmou88 on July 03, 2016, 10:18:08 AM
Hello, i am new here and i have a question about the q10 pro

I see in the forum that there is problems with auto-framerate 23.976 fps videos under 1080p and I wanna know if this problem is present with himedia native player or just with KODI
Also if I set the resolution to 2160p24, there will be no switch problem then right ? Does the q10 pro upscale videos ?
thank you .

For resolutions not 1080p (exactly 1080 horizontal pixels) and 4K the native player does not switch to 23.976 / 24 mode. This will be fixed in future firmware, probably initially by upscaling 720p 23.976 to 1080p 23.976 as some other products do (notably all Popcorn Hour).

In native Kodi no auto-frame switching works. However, this recently developed add-on will add auto-switching to Kodi, including upscaling 720p 23.976 to 1080p 23.976: http://www.futeko.com/newforum/index.php?topic=1015

The disadvantage of that add-on is that performance is not as good as with Himediaplayer app and it doesn't support 4K or HD-Audio. But work is ongoing so it may improve and gain features imminently.

but if I set the resolution of the system on 2160p24 and I play 720p24 video, there is no need to switch then because the framerate is the same ?

As far as I experienced your video will be played with the right fps if you set up 24Hz and you play any resolution with 24Hz. I would additionally enable 24Hz in the playback menu to be sure.
