I have tried some audio file (http://www.2l.no/hires/index.html) mp3, flac ecc,but PCM outputting is always only 48khz ( displaied by my onkyo amp on HDMI input ) :(
mp3/flac 44.1khz -> 48 khz
FLAC 24BIT/ 96kHz -> 48 khz >:(
FLAC 24BIT/ 192kHz -> 48 khz >:(
only: Surround 5.1 FLAC 24BIT/96kHz -> multiPCM 96 khz :o
DTS-HD at 96 and 192 khz NO problem 8).

Yes I can confirm the Q5 does not play FLAC files correctly.
It would also be useful if both bit rate and sampling freq were dispayed. Perhaps this could be added when the bug is fixed.
Thanks.

Any chance of getting this fixed in the new Firmware update due soon?
Thanks.
-
Himedia are looking into this.
-
Please note:
The 24th April 1.0.8 Firmware has not fixed this bug so it needs to be carried over to the next build.
Thanks.

HiMedia are aware of this issue and are waiting for a chipset level fix from HiSilicon.

This is the only characteristic that lack this box for me to buy.
-
And someone knows if this box supports dsd tracks ( dff or dsf files) ?

do you have link with demo/sample?

When you tried the samples, the hdmi output setting was raw or lpcm ? Could you try with the 2 options ? Or are you using the optical or coaxial output ?Regards

I can not found a player on playstore can work and play DSF file with q5.
-
Thanks looun. And you tried the flac files with the 2 options on hdmi output settings (raw and lpcm) ?
Is strange that this box can play 5.1 FLAC 24BIT/96kH and has problems with stereo files. And as Karl said, it would be useful if bit rate is displayed. In your Onkyo the bit rate is not identified ? I have this problem with my Yamaha, only the sampling frequencie is displayed in stereo files.
Lets hope Himedia has a solution for this.
-
looun, do you know if the box is bit perfet, that means, files whit 16 bits are transmited as 16 bits, 24 bits at 24 bits ?
-
Has this issue been sorted on 1.0.9, or is this still ongoing issue? No point in buying until fixed as all my music collection is in flac for the purpose of bitperfect playback.
-
It stills an issue

I noticed that there is not flac gapless playback (uninterrupted playback of consecutive audio tracks). The absence of gapless playback is a source of annoyance to listen live concerts, or classic music for instance, because they are interrupte between tracks
-
There is app can do on play store like power amp

Thanks looun. Did you tried 5.1 24bit/96khz flac with kodi ?
