Xtreamer Airmouse Pro which is a compact combined Remote, A Pointer Mouse and QWERTY Keyboard (at the back).
Is wireless but not Wi-Fi or Bluetooth and pairs with a dedicated dongle receiver.  I just plug over the dongle when desired. No install needed.

Do you know what chipset than DVB-T dongle uses? I would expect all devices based on the chipset to work.

I've finally been able to test my Bluetooth connectivity with my Headset after FW upgrade, the problem is still there . I got to stay very closed to the player to be able to pair but as soon as I walk away (about 2 meters) the connection is lost...

Fa.Ch, I would suspect the problem is with your headphones and not the Q10 Pro, I just did a test using a VIZIO SB3821-C6 38-Inch 2.1 Channel Sound Bar with Wireless Subwoofer, The Q10 Pro is in my bedroom and the soundbar is in my living room, Now with my door closed It connected instantly and sounded fine.
The distance between the 2 is just over 30 feet.

Hello!

Anyone have experience if the Minix Neo A2 lite Airmouse will work fully with the Q10 Pro? I have seen some review on YT that says that it has some button functions that wouldn't work properly on all Android devices, because it's originally designed for specific Minix Boxes.

Im interested in the Play/Pause, Fast FF and RW, the Menu and the Back/exit buttons functionality...

(It looks that there aren't as much Airmouses on the market (other than this one) that would satisfy my needs and taste, that would be: Keyboard on the back, AA or AAA Battery  operation, and nice build quality. (I don't want  to suffer with a rechargable one neighter.) And it would be good to know if the desired buttons work properly on Himedia players (with  both Kodi and it's internal palyer as well), before I jump in to buy one...

Or any other suggestion for a good and tested airmouse other than this?

And another question: is there any Android app to reprogram or get back button functions on Airmouses, or is this even possible?

Thanks for the replies! :)

Hello
Bulid your own Vendor_XXXX_Product_XXXX.kl
https://source.android.com/devices/input/key-layout-files.html

Code: [Select]
adb connect ip_player
adb pull /system/usr/keylayout/Vendor_0001_Product_0001.kl Vendor_0001_Product_0001.kl
adb shell cat /proc/bus/input/devices

Search for Minix Neo A2 lite device, similar to this
Bus=0003 Vendor=0c40 Product=7a18 Version=0101
Rename Vendor_0001_Product_0001.kl to Vendor_0c40_Product_7a18.kl
Modified like you need and push back to Android box

Code: [Select]
adb connect ip_player
adb remount
adb push Vendor_0c40_Product_7a18.kl /system/usr/keylayout/Vendor_0c40_Product_7a18.kl
adb shell chmod 0644 /system/usr/keylayout/Vendor_0c40_Product_7a18.kl

Attached you have original Vendor_0c40_Product_7a18.kl from Minix FW and Vendor_0001_Product_0001.kl form HiMedia Q10Pro FW.
Is possible to start from Generic.kl, for FULL Keyboard layout.
Good luck with modding keylayout on Android.

Hallo,

I see that Logitech Touch K400 Plus is supported by Q10 Pro and I'd like to buy it.
But I've a doubt that is where I have to plug-in the USB receiver provided with the K400.
The box doesn't have any USB socket.

Thanks in advance,

Q10 Pro has 3 USB ports on the left side. The receiver can be plugged into any of these.

pcristi , thanks a lot bro....
i'm one of those who are in desperate need for minix  neo A2 lite remote support (especially with POWER ON feature , coz i'm not using the factory remote and whenever i want to power on the box i do it with my fingertip and from there i use the minix A2 lite remote and end up with the power menu app to power off the box.....
i don't want to mess up with the box. yet i know how add the modified layout .kl file to the system (awkward i know)... so would it be possible for you to help us by providing the needed file for minix neo A2 lite remote (with the power on function) ? or is there a way to add the minix A2 lite remote full support in modified firmware? thanks

Hi All,

I though I would share with you my experiences with my air mice, in case anyone is going to buy any of the below.

My Mele F10 pro mainly works but due to the in built mike and headphones cuts the sound to my AVR when it is plugged in. I've had the same problem with this remote on my minix boxes, you have to go in everytime its turned on and change the sound output in settings, rooting and custom rom rectified this though on the minix units . Also the pointer freezes and judders sometimes.

My Mele F10 deluxe is a disaster, the pointer always lags, judders and freezes. The keyboard  lags to the point its unusable.

My Tronsmart airmouse works most of the time but the pointer does lag on occasion and also drifts terribly, but its the best of the bunch.

My Logitech f400 plus works a treat :)

Cheers

This happen when is connect only only Mele F10 deluxe/Airmouse, or is happen when you connect together wtih USB HDD/Pen drive?
I have similar problem when AirMouse is connect together with some 32/64 GB USB Pen drive.

This happens with or without USB/pen drive etc. I think its a driver incompatibility with the Mele.  I had the same issue with this remote and my tronsmart draco but it works perfectly with my minix x7 and x8.

I have only had the box a couple of days so I cant really recommend another air mouse, however my k400 plus works perfectly with this box.

But tbh I am now looking for another air mouse as I really don't like using the k400 its to big and I don't need a keyboard function often enough to justify it.

Hi all,

I can confirm now that the Minix F10 lite does not work properly with the Q10. I tried this remote last night .
Same issues, juddering and freezing pointer and keyboard lags. The mouse feature kept turning off completely too on this remote and took multiple button presses to bring it back on screen.

All in all I thinks Minix air mice and the Q10 do not play well together. ::)

Got an Rii i7 on the way tomorrow will keep you posted how it behaves.

Interestingly all the remotes were at there worse when the system was under load, like firing up Kodi or something.

Cheers

I had to use the learn function with the original remote.

Can anyone help me out please I read on here how the F710 works well so I went off and bought one this afternoon. I've tried for the best part of two hours to get it working but it wont do anything.  I thought I would just insert the usb dongle and off I go, but apparently not.
I've tried different usb slots and looked in settings but can't see why its not working :(

Any help is much appreciated :)

"Good luck with modding keylayout on Android. " Is not "ironic" is just one expression.
You can't hard brick box changing Generic.kl, in the bad situation of changing Generic.kl can be USB keyboard/Airmouse not recognizing, is solve by push original Generic.kl.
Common problems of Android player and Airmouse are HOME and BACK button witch for HiMedia Q10/Q5Pro is solved by HiMedia.
The quote post is not for this common Airmouse , is for programming special key of Minix Neo A2 lite Airmouse have it.

Hi!

I have another question regarding a particular Air-Mouse compatibility: I have read in the first post compatibility list, that the Obsmart AM-1 is fully compatible with the Q10 Pro. And I have found this -very identical looking-  Rikomagic RKM MK705 Air-Mouse on the net, which may be just a "re-branded" version of the same Air-Mouse. Can someone confirm my intuition that these two Air-Mouses are otherwise identical?  ??? It would be important to know according the compatibility. The only difference I can spot on the pictures, is that the Obsmart AM-1 has a German keyboard layout, while the Rikomagic has English. Here are the links to the products:  Obsmart AM-1: http://www.orbsmart.de/produkte/orbsmart-am-1/ (http://www.orbsmart.de/produkte/orbsmart-am-1/) / Rikomagic RKM MK705.: http://www.rikomagic.com/en/product/showpro_id_44_pid_17.html (http://www.rikomagic.com/en/product/showpro_id_44_pid_17.html)

Whats your oppinion, as the Obsmart is compatible, would be ordering a Rikomagic safe too?

Thanks for the replies!

I think they are identical and both would work.

Orbsmart are just a brand (I think aimed at Germany), they don't manufacture anything.

I have bought a Minix Neo A2 Lite airmouse, but it's more circumstantial than I've expected.

All buttons works except: The "Recent apps" and the "Power" button won't work at all, So it's absulutely useless for power on and down the Q10 Pro.
The "Back" button works in the Android screen and in Kodi as well, but in Himedia Player (to exit the playback) it works only this trikcy way: I must press the "Activate Air mouse" button first, just after that will it react to the "Back" button. Needless to say how unconfy is this method, and I'm seriously confused what causes this anomaly, as -like I've written- in any other cases the "Back" button works like it should. ???

Other -more mean- annoyances: The mouse pointer reacts laggy, it gets stucked time to time, and is hard to keep a good controll over it otherwise, cause it looses the "center point" constantly. I don't know, if this is releated to some incompatibility with the Q10 Pro or is it just because this particular Air mouse is faulty anyway.

And there was an occasion when after watching a video for like 1 hours with Himedia Player the Air mouse and all it's remote functions just stopped respondig completly (loss off connection?)... Only rebooting the Box did help.  :-[

I have tried to recalibrate the Air mouse a several times, but it just wouldn't help it.

Any Ideas that it's the case of a faulty Airmouse or it's simply incompatibility/bug with the Box?  ??? Or any other solutions I should try to fix these?

Im using the 1.0.5 firmware, and the KODI with the wrapper.

Thanks for the replies!

Edit: I have tried the Airmouse with my Windows Notebook and there is no lagging or stucking in the pointer movement at all. So I guess the Airmouse is not faulty and it's rather a compatibility issue with the Q10 Pro.

Any chances that this would be give forth to Himedia and fixed in a futher firmware (along with a general air-mouse compatibility range expansion)?

Thanks!

Q10 Pro uses IR for power on/off. This is preferable because it allows the box to be properly turned off. Not blank screen or suspend. You'll need an airmouse/trackpad with programmable IR commands to power on/off.

The laggyness isn't neccesarily a problem with Q10 Pro. Users on this thread report good performance with other airmice. It may be a compatibility issue with the MiniX airmouse and Android boxes other than those from MiniX. I will certainly inform HiMedia but I don't think they'll do anything about it, you are advised to stick to airmice reported working well on this thread.

Well, I that case I have ended up with an useless airmouse... Also tested with 1.0.6 firmware: It's even worst, the Box goes nuts when this Airmouse is connected for a longer time: after playing several videos and switching 24p mode suddenly the screen went black when strating a video (sound still played). I recognised at this time, that a process called "PQ settings" vere stuck and running in the background. Maybe that caused the problem. Restarting the box solved the issue. Strange how a simple input device can mess up the system.... :??? The lagging with the pointer however sometimes goes away for even like 1 hour, but then it just reappears.

I gues I will go next with that Rikomagic Airmouse that has an IR learning function....

Thanks for the reply and for reporting it to Himedia, in any case!...

I have one and it didn't work, at least very-very buggy and unusable (search my complaining post in this topic), but on another forum someone had more luck with it, but also complained to the keyboard part as it lagged and took one press as multiple presses. Still not sure if it's incomplatibility with the Box or it's some kind of fault on the Airmouse side, but on Windows 7 Laptop it works well. The power button definetly won't work, maybe it's possible to solve with some Android keymap editing, but it's easier to get an Airmouse with IR learning function (this one hasn't). From my experience I wouldn't recommend the A2 Lite thou. However if you -despite all of this- decide to get the A2 Lite, please post here your regarding experiences.

For the power button to work you need a remote with an IR learning function. Like Rii i25.

To be honest, I hate airmice. So for me I'd say no. Some people like them though and that Rii gets reasonable reviews.

There aren't many options if you want a trackpad / keyboard + IR learning remote. None of these are tested on Q5/Q10 Pro, but all should work.

My personal choicem, Rii i6. Rii make good quality and reasonably priced hardware:

i was primarily lookin for an air mouse with the power on/off feature through (IR learning).... for me , it was the biggest obstacle since i believe that every other feature is tolerable enough or can easily be managed...
the remote itself has a quality feel to it and not as bulky or heavy on the hand as the mele f10 deluxe.... not expensive also....
sounds like i'm promoting it... no , i'm just happy that i don't have have to use my finger to switch on the box, or use the included remote for only one purpose based on my preferences....

Rii i8+ works well except for it's lack of IR functions so you'll need to manually power box on/off.

the Rii i25 has a learning feature through which you can set up every button on it to be like those on the original ir remote (including powering the box on and off)

Also considering the Rii 25 (except that it's rebranded version : The Rikomagic RKM MK705:http://www.gearbest.com/mice-keyboards/pp_104418.html?wid=21 (http://www.gearbest.com/mice-keyboards/pp_104418.html?wid=21), looks identical, and think that the Rii 25 is just as well a rebranded variant of this same product.)

But have read some good ratings from Mele F10 Deluxe (NOT The Pro!) as well, as it's fully compatible with Q10/Q5 Pro as well. Can anyone here confirm this?

Maybe its a bit podgyer in overall (the Rii 25 looks more slim and ergonomicly more comfortable), but it has mutch more IR programable buttons, and also a function to switch/double it's  buttons function capability. And as an "all-in-one" rempote, to controll both main TV and the Box's funcions, is closer to my expectaions, maybe I would go for the Mele F10 Deluxe over the Rii 25/Rikomagic MK705.

Any thoughts/experiences comparing the two?  ???

Thanks!

With what specific Airmouse : F10 Deluxe or Pro?! According the mentioned comparisons it  makes a huge difference between the two models.

Sorry, but It doesn't make sense to just drop in something confusing regarding  just "Mele" in the line...

Can you be more specific, thanks?!

Remember there are 2 version (with or without mic) which differentiate by the mic icon or IE (internet browser)  icon

According to Himedia's site it is compatible up to 6TB, but according to Futeko: http://www.futeko.com/products/MP068.php (http://www.futeko.com/products/MP068.php) it is compatible up to 8TB.

Many users have successfully tested 8TB drives with Q5/Q10 Pro.

I'm not sure why HiMedia still say 6TB, it might just be that they've not updated from specifications a year old.

@Futeko: please tell HiMedia that wireless keyboards like Microsoft All-In-One (the one that I am using and has a touchpad) is still not recognized properly 2.0.1 as it was on 1.0.8. It would really, really mean a lot to me and a lot of other users (seeing the on-screen keyboard while typing with an external keyboard is not good).

It's not loud and the feel of the buttons is OK.

As to cheap, well yes it is cheap. That's another part of it's appeal. It feels more expensive than it is.

The main thing is that it functions well. The airmouse is accurate and the buttons are mapped sensibly for Q5/Q10 Pro. Battery life is also good. I use one at home every day and it's lasted more than 3 months so far on the first set of batteries.

Not very hard to program any IR remote button on key.xml if you are familiar with adb shell command.
Next tutorial can apply to any Hi3798CV100/Hi3798CV200  base f/w.

Start with step 2 if you have old Q5/Q10 4K3D Hi3798CV100 box
Step 1 -> Stop IR code to be read by Android event
Code: [Select]
adb connect <ip_player>
adb remount
adb shell "mv /system/bin/android_ir_user /system/bin/android_ir_user.orig"
adb shell  "kill `ps | grep ir_user | busybox cut -d ' ' -f7`"

Step 2 -> Get IR code send by Remote for wanted button like power
Code: [Select]
adb connect <ip_player>
adb remount
adb shell  <ENTER>
ir_user

Press wanted button like power, on adb window will get something like that
Code: [Select]
Create ir sample thread, press q to exit!
Received key: 0xb24d4040, DOWN, protocol: nec simple uPD6121G like.
Received key: 0xb24d4040, UP,   protocol: nec simple uPD6121G like.
After press all want IR button and note codes, press q to and <ENTER>exit and <CTRL+C> to exit from adb shell
Code: [Select]
q
q
Ir sample thread exit! Bye!
root@Hi3798CV200:/ # ^C

Step 3 -> Restore IR code to be read by Android event
Code: [Select]
adb shell "mv /system/bin/android_ir_user.orig /system/bin/android_ir_user"
adb shell <ENTER>
/system/bin/android_ir_user&
 <ENTER>
<CTRL+C>

Step 4 -> Pull key.xml
Code: [Select]
adb pull /system/etc/key.xml

Step 5 -> add / replace wanted key action in  <other-key> ex power for 0xb24d4040
Code: [Select]
    <other-key>
        <key value="0xb24d4040" name="KEY_POWER"      />      <!--Egreat R1  key power-->
        <key value="0xe8171980" name="KEY_UP"         />      <!--key up-->
        <key value="0xe9161980" name="KEY_DOWN"       />      <!--key down-->

Step 6 -> Push modified key.xml to box
Code: [Select]
adb push key.xml /system/etc/key.xml
adb shell chmod 644 /system/etc/key.xml

Step 7 -> Reboot and enjoy new IR action
Code: [Select]
adb reboot
Note some limitation:
- number of key read from key.xml are limited, add o small number or remove some with not need like hisi-key
- added power button can't start box first time after power supply connected
- some IR remote like Samsung TV sent twice all key, not usefully for real usage
- this step are provide at is, not warranty, not support on forum, send private message (http://www.futeko.com/newforum/index.php?action=pm;sa=send;u=72).

Please don't spam forum this tutorial is for specific request of advanced user using they IR remote / Air mouse.
Risk IR remote can stop to work at all, and request reinstall f/w so backup, backup, backup you data before try.
Use at your own risk

True. Excellent remote.
Too bad you cant power on, only power off the device.

You can program the remote to replicate the IR power on/off button of the HiMedia remote. The MX3 power button can be similarly programmed.

This works 100% for turning the box on.

It's not 100% for turning the box off though, occasionally the box gets confused and tries to enter standby so you get blank screen with no way to turn back on. My solution to this is to use pcristi firmware with power icon on homescreen to turn off and MX3 programmed power button to turn on.

If you have a laggy remote. Try using an usb extension cable and put the dongle further from the box.

This worked for me with a laggy minix A2 on an m8s.

Minix A2 lite works. Only the back button is a problem. While using the wrapper.

Minix A2 causes the audio to stop. Because of the speaker in the remoter. This can solved with soundabout. Set output to hdmi.

Strange, I also have a  Minix A2 Lite but it was ridiculously laggy (unusable) with the pointer on 1.0.7 fw. No matter how close or far I went from the Box and I don't think an extension cable could help this. Tho' still didn't tried try on 1.0.9 fw.

What is your firmware version?

On 1.0.9 fw my Microsoft All-In-One keyboard lost it's "Enter" key functionality, while browsing with Chrome. I must point it on the virtual keyboard's "Enter" everytime I'm trying to enter a text in the searchbox.  Also very annoying, that everytime I'm trying to type in something it opens the virtual keyboard console, covering the half of the screen.

I wouldn't upgrade to any newer firmware (only to have this fixed), cause all the fw updates since 1.0.9 are juts lamer in a way or another.

Still waiting a decent fw, to be finally worthy to upgrade.

Hello!

I have 2 question regarding the MX3-M remote: how many programmable IR buttons does it have? And does the "Back" button work like it should with these Himedia Boxes?

The four coloured buttons at the bottom and the power button are programmable.

Back works perfectly.

Anyone has experience with this Backlit Air-mouse?!: https://de.aliexpress.com/item/MX3-Backlight-Wireless-Keyboard-2-4G-Wireless-Remote-Control-IR-Learning-MXIII-Fly-Air-Mouse-Backlit/32788026774.html?spm=2114.13010308.0.0.5L9frY (https://de.aliexpress.com/item/MX3-Backlight-Wireless-Keyboard-2-4G-Wireless-Remote-Control-IR-Learning-MXIII-Fly-Air-Mouse-Backlit/32788026774.html?spm=2114.13010308.0.0.5L9frY) As it has backlited buttons, it looks very promising, and it also looks similar to the "normal" MX3. It also has 5 IR programmable buttons as well. I wonder if it also would work flawlessly with these Himedia Boxes. :???

I would like the backlit version over the casual MX3 as it has many advantaged in everyday use (as usually people do Home Theater in darkened rooms).

Futeko, any intention  to test it, and add it to your supply options?!

The official Rii version of that remote works exactly like normal MX3.

I'd be slightly wary of ordering via Aliexpress, fake Rii products are everywhere. It should have a green Rii scratch sticker on the packaging.

Yes we've thought about stocking it. Maybe eventually as a replacement for the standard MX3.

that Xtreamer Airmouse Pro is supported. So I would like to know some reviews about this product  before I decide whether to buy it or not.

My device is Q5 pro.

1. Can I use full functions with Q5 pro ?
2. Can I use voice search with Youtube or google Chorme , google voice... ?
3. How about the accuracy of air mouse ?
4. How long does the  battery last?   What kind of build-in battery?  Can I replace the battery if it dies?
5. Any problem with Q5 pro ?

I hope you will be able to provide the information. I will be grateful for any help you can provide !

Hello!

I would like to ask about the MX3 Backlit airmouse.

In some product pictures it's backlit seams really fair and bright, but I have seen some YT reviews that shows up, that it has rather a dull, and inconsistent lighting, makes it hard to see the concrete button labels in the dark. Which would make the main reason null and void, why i would by this airmouse over any other else.

A YT review for example: https://youtu.be/jiQcACeTaAY?t=4m22s (https://youtu.be/jiQcACeTaAY?t=4m22s)

So, how it works out for you in real use, is that backlit function really usable at all, or it's just as it seams on these videos?!

Thank you!

I can confirm that the ipega PG-9068 Tomahawk bluetooth gamepad works with the Q10 Pro.

How many controllers of the same type can be used concurrently on the Q10 pro? For example I have the Ipega game controller which I use on an emulator. The emulator supports multiple game controller connections. Can I buy a second or even third controller of the same kind (Ipega PG-9068) and pair and use them simultaneously on the Q10 pro? Will the Q10 pro identify each controller individually when paired?

If you have a laggy remote. Try using an usb extension cable and put the dongle further from the box.

This worked for me with a laggy minix A2 on an m8s.

Minix A2 lite works. Only the back button is a problem. While using the wrapper.

Minix A2 causes the audio to stop. Because of the speaker in the remoter. This can solved with soundabout. Set output to hdmi.

What is your firmware version?

Was on 1.1.0 firmware. Now on latest android 7 firmware. Works great. only return from wrapper isn't working.

putting dongle further away from box may help.

Yes. And a powered hub is advised if you plan on adding multiple physical HDDs.

Hello!

Does have anybody experiences to get some microphone working on the Q5 /Q10 Pro? Like via bluetooth headset, airmouse remotes with built in mics, or just as a separate microphone somehow?

Would the MX3 airmouse version with built-in mic work as it supposed on these boxes? I.e. like for google and youtube search? I know there's an option to turn the mic features on in the Settings menu, so I hues it supposed to work somehow. I did a search here on the forum, but no result or whatsoever, if anyone ver used the microphone feature since... ?! :???

Thanks for the replies!

You must use the usb adapter of the Rii mini i8+ in the Q10 Pro to connect;

But te Q10 is supposed to have bluetooth so usb adapter should be not necessary (my mini rii i8+ is bluetooth model)
Anyway, i tried with and without usb adapter, but same consequence: the tv box doesn't find anything.
The box firmware is 1.1.0 with Android 5.1, maybe should i upgrade? (but i don't think this is the reason of the issue)

I assume that you have charged the Rii and that you turned it on, the light on Rii is on or blinking?
Here he worked immediately after setting the dongle in the box.
Re-boot the box once with the usb dongle in it?

The Rii is full charged and on - the blue light is blinking (i pushed the pairing button)
I tried again with the dongle in the box (in one usb port)..i go to settings menu - bluetooth - ..The box starts looking for devices...but no devices are found
I tried to connect the keyboard with a tablet, just to be sure it works, and the tablet finds the keyboard immediately..

Where am i wrong?

But i'm not using the dongle (Q10 has bluetooth module).
Anyway, i checked on the Riitek website-support, and i found these hints:
"On some Android TV Boxes there is no standard Bluetooth HID (Human Interface Device) drivers required for Bluetooth i8 operation. Unfortunately some hardware manufacturers do not include in the firmware all the expected functionality of the Android operating system, but only a partial implementation of the Bluetooth functionality where the HID profile is missing for the management of the keyboards."

Maybe Q10 pro can't work with this bluetooth keyboard because of this...does anyone has got this keyboard (bluetooth version) and can confirm it?

I have one of these micro keyboards that I can't stand (I'm not a typist) and tried to use it on a Fire TV 2, but it wouldn't work unless I use the RF USB receiver. I assumed since it is a 2.4GHz/ BlueTooth it's one in the same.
Are there two separate 'bands. in the range??

One to add to the list with warnings:

iweipoo gt01 air mouse. All main buttons works well like on the stock remote.

The warning: in 2.0.6 and 2.0.7 firmware you can't change the pointer sensitivity in the settings, as the airmouse is faulty recognized only as a keyboard. That's a firmware bug and presumably applies to all other airmouses on these firmwares.

However this particular airmouse has the ability to change it's sensitivity with pressing some button combinations on itself.  Tho' it's still not the same as setting it up in the Android settings.

HiMedia needs to fix this.

good evening
I bought the Rii i8 mini keyboard, which works on a regular basis, but the only problem is that it is only possible to turn off the HiMedia but do not switch it on.
This is because the Rii i8 mini keyboard is only wireless and does not have IR that does not allow you to copy the code of the HiMedia remote control?
