Hi,
thank you very much for this information.
This evening as soon as i will be at home i'll try this patch and i'll post some feedback.
-
What does this really do? Applicable for Himedia Videoplayer only or Kodi included?
-
Updated opening post due to report of patch only working on 2.0.5, not 2.0.4.
What does this really do? Applicable for Himedia Videoplayer only or Kodi included?
It adds support for original Blu-Ray rip menus to Himediaplayer.
It works when playing BD-ISO from HiMedia Media Center app or from Kodi+ wrapper.

Does it work with bluray files ?
-
BD-ISO works really well but cant get DVD-ISO to work.
-
Does it play full menu for bdmv structure as well ?
If not, is there any plan for future update ?
Any tweak for bdmv folder, will it work if i convert the bdmv folder to bd-iso ? What app is good for this conversion ?

I don't know if it works with BDMV structure..i used to convert all the BDMV structure to ISO file.
To do this job i use IMGBURN and it work perfectly.
This evening i'll try with a BDMV structure.
Yesterday i have updated from 2.0.4 to 2.0.5 and all the ISO file i've checked works fine with full Blu-Ray Menu.

Tested and confirm bluray menu work for bluray iso and BD files,
the only down side is subtitle adjustment option only available when you select internal subtitle,
after adjustment the setting also apply to external subtitle.

I have already asked that question of HiMedia but I will push them harder for an answer.

Yes, all of my Disney Blu-ray ISO's not working with menu (freezes at first screen).
Im testing Pirates 5, Beauty and the Beast 2017, Star Wars Rogue One BONUS DISK.
Futeko, pls report this problem.
-
Very happy with this new app :)
Tested a few Blu-ray .iso files and they load so much faster than a physical disk in a Blu-ray player.
The menus on Dolby Atmos and DTS Demo 21 files worked very well. Each individual file could be chosen from main menu (just like a disk).
The Wonder Woman BDMV directory also played fine (not an .iso) and actually loaded into a movie preview first, before Main Menu appeared (same as the disk would). Scene selection and other main menu items all worked fine.
It makes upgrading to 2.0.5 worthwhile! Still testing but so far no issues for NAS and attached HDD playback.

I have written and asked Himedia
it will soon be available :D
-
Whats about the Disney Movies? Will come a fix for that?
-
There will be a new Q5/Q10 Pro firmware next week (30/10 - 3/11) incorporating this patch.
HiMedia say it will be mainly just incorporating the patch, nothing else major.
-
UHD support and fix for Disney Movies added in 2.0.6

Hi!
i just upgraded to FW2.0.6 this Weekend. Blu-Ray Playback mode is set to "Display BD Menue" in Kodi. But still the main movie starts immideately when i hit "Play". No Menue displayed. Tried on several BD and UHD Iso and BDMV files.
Is there any other Setting i need to configure to get to the BD/UHD Menue??
Best

It works fine on both .iso and BDMV folders for myself. Menus come up nicely (and you get a choice of "Full Menu" or Lite Menu").
I had the Patch installed when upgrading to 2.0.5 so I'd suggest installing the .apk file from this thread.
-
The patch still needs to be installed. See opening post.
My mistake last week in saying that the patch would be incorporated into 2.0.6. It hasn't been (for 'non-technical' reasons).

Thank you for clarification!!
I will wait untill the Patch has left the Beta-Status. Can you foresee, when this will be the case?
...And btw: Is this patch compatible with FW2.0.6? From the initial posts it looks as if it was developed for 2.0.5.
Kind Regards,
-
I can confirm this patch is compatible with with 2.0.6.

Who should contact if there are problems with the 4K menu.
With 2 of 10 of my UHD's the menu does not work. These UHD's have been tested and operate with menu at PowerDVD. Even on a stand alone player they run without problems.
So that's a himedia problem
Should I contact Himedia directly, or do you do that?
-
I had a couple UHD iso menu not work as well, I just put it down to it still been in beta.
We could start a thread with iso/bdmv that the menu doesn't work.

Hi,
Is this patch work on playing UHD BD/BD/DVD Folder?
How can I select external SRT subtitle on playing UHD BD/BD/DVD Folders?
One more question, I found on a German website they offer item similar to Q10 Pro but quoted it supports 10TB HDD. Is this also apply to Q10 Pro, Is anyone ever try?
Thanks

Yes it should work on UHD BD/BD/DVD Folder.
10TB HDD should work OK. In fact, I don't think there is an upper limit, it's more that the larger drives haven't been tested.
I'd be interested in what's the largest HDD anyone has tested in a Q10 Pro? 10TB+?

There is a new version of Q10 Pro firmware 2.0.6 which includes the BD menu patch.
It's not officially from HiMedia, but, well, they certainly pointed me in the direction of it's existence. :o
Q10 Pro only. No changes from 2.0.6 except BD menu patch included. Link is direct to update.zip so copy update.zip direct to USB stick.

Does it have the auto frequency switching corrected when the playback is started from the full BD menu?
Regarding: if not, can we still load up the Himedia BD menu inside the full BD menu to least start the playback from there (selecting the main title), and will it then playback the video content on the correct frequency?

WOW, what an exhausting and useful answer to all of my concerned questions!
Thanks for the great "support"!

with Patch i have always 60p on tv and proyector, i cant change it to 24p? How is it posible? only running without patch? is this a bug? THX
-
Today I was playing a bluray and the next button on the remote took me to the next indeed. The next bluray on my drive, that is.
Luckily I found this on the forum and tried the patch on my firmware 2.0.6 official.
I did as described in the first post but the app never showed up. I restated the Q10, no bluray app. Tried to install again. Same thing.
Took the device off the power and started agin. Still no app anywhere to be found.
But magically there is now a menu when I open a bluray and this time when I press next it takes me to the next chapter on the bluray.
So far so good. I'll check on the auto frame rate switch later.
-
-
Can someone confirm the bug in the auto framerate switching? I also have noticed this only when I start the bluray with the full menu. I noticed that when I start the bluray with the lite menu first, and then stop and start the full menu, the framerate is switched correctlt to 24.
Is there another way, or most inportant do we think this bug will be solved in a next firmware?
The player is very good, but this is almost a dealbreaker.
-
Yepp, can confirm this bug. AutoFM Script should solve this bug atm.
-
Thx, but still a little confused. Do I need to install 2 patches for Kodi and for the Himedia mediaplayer to solve the framerate bug?
I read both, but its difficult to determine which one is settled in the newer firmware allready.
-
The user made framrate patch is not a solution for me. HiMedia needs to implement the correct Hz switching in to the BD menu app itself as well.
However it's a peripheral issue for me at the moment, HiMedia still needs to fix and implement a lots of other, more important things in to the new firmware. Due to the SD/.avi video issue the 2.0.7 was rather disastrous. I'm Still sticked to 2.0.6 despite it has this annoying lip-sync issue. Wonder how 2.0.8 will accomplish.
-
Not Supporting BD Java Menu. Any solution for that please help.
-
Does the patch work in FW2.1.1?
-
Any news on the horizon for this patch?
Thanks

Just out of curiosity, have you tried this patch with 2.1.4 FW? If yes, is the frame rate issue resolved? Thanks!
-
Confirmed BD menu works in OFW 2.1.4 (Q5 pro). I don't know if the frame rate issue still exists because all my movies are 24 fps.
